That Tex boy looks very cool with dark hair! I love those colours! And the princess looks more royal with blue hair, great job!
@madhatterda, please post some of yours, I bet everyone would love to see them!

G1 and -you may have guessed it- because I grew up with them. I like how they're sculpted - those cute noses they have! I think that they resemble real horses more than any of the other generations. But the G3 are very cute as well, and G4 too - I love the TV show!

These are beautiful. I should post a few of mine, but most of my ponies so far are pretty close to the original color.  I'm loving the mixed hair colors. I might have to try it.

Maybe we should make a restoration thread as well! Is there one on the forum? It would be great to see more "before-and-after" pictures! It's so nice to see the ponies restored to their original beauty!

Love that Posey with blue! The colour suits her!

My deflocking process for Ribbon:
First I used a blunt (!) manicure tool (with rounded edges, good to scratch without hurting the symbol & eye paint) to shift the glue away from her eyes and symbols, all done in very hot water. (I didn't dare to use boiling water, so I used hot water from the tap)
Then, I cleaned off the "fur" with a cotton wad and acetone-free nail polish remover. I used q-tips dipped in the same nailpolish remover around the symbols and her eyes and blush.

It seems that the white symbol paint and eye paint of the ponies is very resistant, but! when I tried the same method on Lofty's symbols, the little orange stars got blurred edges. His eyes came out brilliant.

Wow, more beauties! Skyflier looks freakishly cool, great colour choice! And how nice Bowtie's hair sparkles. Can't wait to try the starlight white!

Now, I just finished another one, Formerly soft Ribbon! My first de-flocked So-soft pony. Whoa, de-flocking is a nasty business, but it's totally worth it. What an amazing body colour she has!

Now, this time I'll switch off my "modesty mode", because I'm really proud of Ribbon! Shine, girl!

I used nylon hair in Butterfly, Passionfruit, Heart Throb, and Bougainvillea.

Wow, that Twist looks very ladylike now! And Cotton Candy as well!

@Goldilocks:
May I ask where did you find the colour changing hair, can it be ordered somewhere or was it donor MLP hair?

I got the UV colour change hair from www.mylittlecustoms.com because it was the only European plastic hair seller I could find. Or, well, at least the first one that popped up in my google search!
The colour changing one is polypropylene hair, very soft but harder to style than nylon hair. (All others I got were nylon hair, which is very easy to style, just wet the hair and let it dry in desired shape!) And I think it's limited availability...

I'd be a Traveling Pony: Pet, train ticket, and carrying a bag - everything fits ^_^

Thank you! Ole Beach Ball is happy now ^.^ Yes, I was able to get some UV colour changing hair! Couldn't resist ^_^

Really, when I see all these photos here, I can almost imagine that you can get addicted to rehairing. Are some of you buying ponies that you already have, just to make an alternate colour scheme?

That rainbow sundance....the princess... a green-haired Sugarberry on the first pages of the thread...and this girl here:

She looks delicious!

Honestly, its great to see so many creative people. Keep going, y'all! Make those ponies pretty!

All of the photos in this thread are gorgeous! Very inspiring!
I just finished my very first rehair project: Beach Ball. (I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm putting her here.) Originally, her hair was extremely frizzy, and just in between the nylon shades "water nixie" and "mermaid". Also, she had beginning tail rust.

So, I went for mermaid, because it looks so much like a swimming pool. And her symbols remind me a lot of swimming pools. Also, I wanted to try out that colour changing hair! So here she is now:

Her hair looks a bit on the wild side, I'm not so good at styling, but I think it suits her. Like fresh from the beach!

Customs / Re: TAF Buttons Alt Rehair Poll

Wow, a TAF Buttons! Your choice of pink, white and key lime sounds great to me, I'm sure it would suit her!
I've always been a fan of the 4-colour-haired ponies, so maybe I'd throw in some purple as well. Or use both pinks, Tea Rose and Bubblegum, along with the white and key lime. (opinion of a noob :-) )
I'm currently thinking of a colour scheme for TE Party Time, I got her with completely rusted tail & mane, and lots of rust inside (ewwww). I thought of combining purple, yellowy orange, green, and maybe white or turquoise, but haven't decided yet...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to see your rehaired Buttons!

Pony Corral / Re: First Pony

My first pony was G1 Moonstone (Italian). I took her with me at all times as a child: on every holiday trip my family went, to the beach and into lakes, to the forest (and into the moss, which gave nice stains), to the playground, the cinema, shopping with mum...pretty much everywhere I went. She has seen a lot, and looks very old - but I still have her!

My second or third pony was Lemon Drop, and I took her everywhere as well - until one sad day at a playground, some pesky kid stole her when she was unattended for a second.
So, recently, thanks to the internet, I found a Lemon Drop in great condition, and bought her. I was very happy to have her again!

Introductions / Good evening, everypony.
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:35:33 PM »
My avatar name is Moonstone's German name, she was my very first pony. I love the Friendship is Magic cartoon and think it's one of the best quality shows of the last few years. I mean... gee, I even like the songs, and I used to hate songs in animation!
I'm not a serious pony collector, they're allowed to look used, and I just try getting all the ponies I really wanted as a child. (Okay... there are a few more now...but I'm not aiming to get them all ^.^)
My favourite generation is G1, because they're the ones I grew up with. My favourite G1's are twinkle eye ponies and unicorns, and my preferred pony colours are blue, purple and white.
I got my first G3 ponies just a few weeks ago, and I think they're pretty cute as well! My G3's are Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Twilight Twinkle (you can guess why I wanted them! ;))
My interests are restoration and "limited" customization of ponies. Apart from de-flocking an old so-soft pony, I haven't done anything yet, but as soon as my first "work" is done, I'd like to post some photos.
I'm sure there are many experienced customizers here in the forum, and I can find some tips.
Also, I'm interested in the sale/ auction section, because I'm looking for some ponies to complete my collection. (well... who doesn't?)

Hope this wasn't too long! Pleased to meet you all!
