That's silly, of course photography is art!  You're welcome to post your work here any time  :)
Thanks! And I will! [Haven't done any MLP shots recently, though.]

Oh hi there! :D
I watch you on Flickr!

I do enjoy your photography a lot - that one of Dewdrop Dazzle in the rain is one of my all-time favourite pony photos :)

Awesome! I might have to revisit that one. I kinda wish I'd turned her head a bit to the side so it looked more like she was looking at her duck, since he's clearly looking up at her. I've also been thinking about doing something different with her mane, maybe put it up in plaits or something.

Being a guy, I'm not all that good at hairstyling, especially with something so tiny, and my daughters haven't been all that keen on letting me practice on them! LOL. Despite my man hands, I did manage to figure out how to do nice little plaits, but some of the trickier hairstyles continue to elude me.

I haven't actually played with my pony's hair in a long time precisely because it takes me ages to do their hair up, what with washing, boiling, rolling up, waiting for it to try, having to start over after messing up for the umpteenth time, and whatever else.

LOL. Good luck with that. None of the previous generations of MLP appeal to me. I am biased towards the G4 body shapes. The older ones look ugly and/or misshapen to me. Sorry.

I'll admit that the one you've got as your avatar isn't too bad, though. What generation is that pony?

That's a G1 in his avi.  But it's the "Big Brother" body style, they only made a handful of male ponies.  You're not required to love all the gens, they may grow on you eventually though.  We all tend to prefer the generation that we are most used to (which is why I like G1 best still).

I agree. not having played with MLP when I was a boy, I completely missed all the previous generations. My daughters started getting into it right at the end of G3. We only discovered FiM because they kept wanting me to find them MLP videos to watch on YouTube and I recall seeing some comments on one G3 video that was talking about how Lauren Faust had saved MLP, so I went searching for what they were talking about and found FiM.

The one with Flitterheart was a fluke. I was experimenting with my brand new wireless remote and took a whole series of photos and just happened to get one with a bubble right in front of her face. I had no idea, as I was not standing behind the camera, I was standing off to the side blowing the bubbles. The image is actually a composite, as I added a few of the bubbles from some of the other shots to fill in some of the gaps.

As for the Spike shot, that involved a lot of luck, patience and perseverance, as the bubbles kept popping on the blades of grass. I had really wanted one just on his head to make it look like a space helmet, but his spiky head kept making the bubbles pop, so I settled for a giant "magic air pocket" bubble instead, then recolored the grass in photoshop to make it look more alien.
