If I knew how to quilt at all I would offer a quilt square~
all good - I know the RL gets in the way. I was just looking for an update really. Shame you didn't get enough for a full quilt, maybe those who did enter could make their squares double size? Or see if anyone else has had any new ideas since the closing date?
Sorry, friends! I started a new job and have been having internet troubles like crazy. Stupid Comcast. I didn't get enough entries to make a full quilt, so I am trying to figure out what to do. *facepalm* I can sotimes post from my phone, but that's about all I can manage. Will get everything sorted asap!
Even if you dont have enough entries, you can still make a larger quilt by bordering the squares with smaller ones and maybe making a pretty pattern out of one. :)
Yay!
Quick question, are the squares 18x18, including the .5" of wiggle room, or are the squares 18.5x18.5 and we just leave part of it blank?
Also, will we get a sneak peak of the designs before the quilt is assembled, or will it be a surprise? ;)
sounds exciting!! I'll have to start going through all my fabric scraps to see if any of them are the right colour and size to cut ponies out of.
So it seems you guys are calling out for progress photos. I did I bit this weekend and will keep working on it bit after work most days but most of the hard work is done. Anyway photos:Um, can I get half a cookie for Twilight Sparkle and Firefly?

I hope you guys can figure out the ponies; virtual cookies for the first person who guesses correctly. They're not quite done and I have to work out if I like the way I've done the hair on the all pink one - it doesn't seem to match what I'm doing with the other ponies...
YAY!! Mirnyj, you get the other half of the cookie! :) But cookies aside, does Pinkie look a bit strange with her hair like that or should I colour it all in and then put the 'hair lines' in like I'm doing with the others?
^ that's right, half a cookie for you. :)
Not that it should be a problem (I doubt anyone else from NZ did a square) but I forgot to put my username on my package and also forgot to put instructions for ironing if its' needed once the quilt is finished.
I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to put all of this together. I'm so excited to see the finished product! :)
Huzzah, all together! They look awesome!
Zenna did you make the quilt underneath? It looks neat, I like the watery feel it has to it.
I wish! My grandma made that quilt. She dyed all the fabric herself and when I was visiting, I saw it and claimed it lol. I then painted my bedroom to match it and proceeded to send her pictures of blue and purple things until she sent it to me! XD It's gorgeous with a cozy fleece backing. She's an amazing quilter and she's the one who taught me to sew. :)
