I’m planning on getting this set, because I think it looks pretty cool! I still need to find the first G4 Minty from a few years ago though.

That is a beautiful story, and Helen sounds like she was a wonderfully kind lady.

I quite like MLP Tales! Very cute show that is kind of simple, but in a good way. Melody's my favorite.

It's so hard for me to choose, but I'll go with these!
G1: Gusty, Firefly, or Twilight (unicorn)
G2: Clever Clover
G3: Minty or Autumn Skye
G4: Twilight Sparkle (though I love most of them lol)

Welcome to the Arena! Post some pics of your collection if you get the chance
I'm definitely going to! Is there a special board for posting collection pictures?

As someone who actually started my G1 collection with the repro ponies, I think that they're very good replicas of the originals. Original 80's ponies are fun to collect because they are the "real thing", but a lot of them can be hard to find in perfect condition (especially to a novice like me who still doesn't understand everything about older gens lol) and I understand that the ponies can develop bacteria due to them being over 30 years old and the fact that plastic does degrade over time as others mentioned. It's safer for young children who may also want to buy the G1 ponies, to get the Basic Fun ones. I do hope that Basic Fun releases more pony characters though!

Welcome to the arena! That’s great that you got into several generations! How big is your collection? Enjoy the forums!
Thank you! I have a pretty big G4 collection (cannot count exactly how many right now, maybe I'll put a picture on here one of these days), and my collection of G1 and G3 is growing! I do not have any G2s at the moment, though. And thank you!

Hi everypony!! I have been a collector and fan of MLP since 2011 and I thought joining this website would be super fun! I was strictly collecting G4 for the longest time (because I absolutely love the FiM show), but in the last year I started collecting the 35th Anniversary G1 ponies and now I love all generations! I only have one 80's G1 pony right now, but I hope to get more in the future! I also have a couple of G3s. Anyway, I am very excited to meet you all and learn more about older generations because I love the history of the My Little Pony franchise!
