Makes sense, they said that the Unicorns would be released in the fall. Did they say if the case was only the 4 ponies or if there were multiples of 2 of them to make the 6?

I took some screen shots- so the wings do look rather thick- they are not as magical/delicate looking as the originals, but that is because originals were so delicate they broke when you looked at them.  So the new sturdy wings are not as pretty. But probably a little more durable- in that a child can actually play with them (hopefully) without immediately breaking them and crying, lol

I have to wonder if the old wings will fit in the slots... probably not I guess.

It's a delicate balance I guess between making a toy durable enough for play and one that resembles the original style to keep collectors happy.

I will wait till I see them in person (if they release flutters) to pass judgement, but nothing is ever going to beat the originals.

They look nice to me.  I took good care of my ponies and the wings still broke.  I kept the pieces but I don't know if I want to go through that again.  The ponies themselves are beautiful.

I think the wings look very nice actually. Getting some stained glass/suncatcher paint and customizing them could be a lot of fun. I personally never liked the shape of flutter wings.

So much retro goodness is continuing to roll out, and I was afraid that last year would be it for the various companies. The flutter wings are looking good and sturdy, kid me was always so afraid I'd break them.

The person who posted had 2 Tickles and 2 Confettis.   

I also read in one of the comments that the earth ponies are packed with 2 Seashells and 2 Applejacks, which I hadn’t heard before.

Oh that would look pretty! They are oddly shaped aren't they? I guess they're supposed to look like petals, the way they sorta form a cup and everything.

Is that fact or hopeful thinking? I still intend to leave it till I see them in person (if they are made) before I make a decision. Wings are very important details to me.

Flutter Ponies are meant to be dragonflies I think. At least, in French they are literally called dragonflies. NOt that any dragnfly on the planet has a wing that shape, but anyway xD. I don't think it is meant to be floral. I think the shape is probably intended to pick up the light, as the curves do that better than a flat wing would (in terms of the irridescence).

For my part, having been bewitched at an early age by an entire wall of flutters in a store when I was five...and completely captivated by the wings...I wouldn't want their wing style or shape to change much. But if they can make them stronger without compromising the irridescence, then fine.
