I found it by searching "My Little Pony Prince" for Sold listings.  :)

HOLY CR@P! I didn't realize there was a regular US pony worth so much.  I guess this seller did their homework before selling to get that price?

Wow.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PRINCE/123733080625?hash=item1ccf10fa31:g:QFEAAOSwaP5csLTb

They had already had an auction for one and set the bin based on that.

WOW.  Seriously though, all of the ponies seem to be going for higher than market. I think these listings are getting a lot of viewership.

One thing that kind of boggles my mind- can you imagine collecting so many mail order ponies in the 1980s and never taking them from their bags? They aren't even cute in the bags.  And they weren't exactly collectible in the 1980s yet...  very OCD collector maybe... or as someone else speculated- maybe an adult collection someone collected alongside their child.  Still, I can't imagine...

I wonder how that total compares to sales from other storage lockers...

Each one is different? Some have junk, others worth a lot.

Clearly it isn't the one with the most..

Well, yeah, obviously it's going to vary, that goes without saying. But I was thinking more in terms of how certain types of stuff gets attention over others when dealing with this kind of thing. The idea of "respectable" stuff and "ponies"...if that makes sense? I don't watch Storage Wars but it just occurred to me that they probably didn't expect 70k from a bunch of toy ponies.

They knew it was going to be a good amount based on they looked up the price of one, and it was $200. I'm sure they didn't expect the price of Rapunzel, but that also surprised some pony people.

It sounded like the person who bought the locker sold the ponies and some other things to the person who's selling them now. So it's unlikely they'll be featured on any kind of storage wars programme at all.

The person who bought the locker isnt someone who was on storage wars anyway. It was a friend of one of the SW guys (and that guy made the video). So that alone means it won't be on SW.

People who buy lockers don't necessarily sell every item themselves. *Shrug* they will sell to other resellers

If it was on storage wars, then they'd show the amount they sold to the friend. Rather then the auctions. But they'd still show it.

I'm sure that 99.98% of the time those storage units contain outdated technology (dead TVs) and moldy old clothing and furniture.

That "storage wars" show has people thinking that these things are goldmines...

And, every once in a while, they are.

So I guess the ponies are done?  I wonder if they will sell the other things they found- they didn't seem overly interesting (cards or something?) but maybe there were some MOTU or something fun in there...

I don't think so - there were playsets and loose ponies in outfits too.
My guess is they need a break before they continue!

Yeah, I was gonna say there were loose items. Although it's just as possible they sold them in a job lot to someone else locally.

It could be they are just sorting out the packaging-  if they are playsets and loose ponies, they may need to assess how best to package.  If they are low value playsets they may not even bother (since the plastic is so brittle)

I'm sure by NOW they have encountered some difficult buyers... (just based on their feedback) so maybe they are going to go more carefully with round two

Or you may be right, they could try and sell local.
