I've just started the early stages of gardening at my new house. I've done container gardening on balconies etc in my previous apartments, but this is my first time having my very own garden as an adult. There's lots to do!

We started off a bit rough. First of all it's been stupidly cold, just two weeks ago we ere still getting snow. Also, before buying the house I had some foundation work done so there were two massive piles of dirt in the front yard and all the landscaping that the previous owner had done was ruined. And of course the dirt that has been brought up by the massive auger came from 6+ feet down in the ground and was all clay! Yuck. So we has to move all that dirt, and it all has a nice home under my back deck now. So currently my front lawn has lots of patches of paper pulp and grass seed while I try to re-grow, and the garden beds just have a few perennials that I've put in.

Out back there's a nice bed that I'll probably use for for vegetables and a few other small beds for other plant. It took me and my mom several hours to dig up all the weeds in the back yard beds though, they were awful. And the mint. All the mint. EVERYWHERE. We dug up all but one small clump and already it's popping up again everywhere. Let it be known that mint in the devils work. I'll probably dig up some of it and transplant it to a pot and then take another stab ad decimating what's left in the yard.

I have a nice collection of seeds that I've gotten from my local seed library, so I'm hoping to get some things going soon :) Hopefully I'll have some pictures to add :D

Just my tulips, lilies, and the elephant ear plant. I might get another raspberry plant (since my last one got mistaken for a weed and was uprooted) and let it grow. ;)

Finally, some of the flowers are starting to grow.  The periwinkle is out, the lungwort is in full bloom, a few of the daffodils are coming out, I have a late bloomer crocus and the hyacinth is just starting to show its (green) buds.

The neighbor's backyard is along the side of my front yard and their lilac straddles the fence. My favorite smell. :)

Got a lot of gardening done today! Hoping I waited late enough. It's been unseasonably cold this week.

I got perennials in my front gardens a while ago and today I planted the pots on the porch.

A lot of the work in the back yard has been weed control. The lawn took a lot of work but now it's so lush it's a challenge to mow! Re-weeded all the beds today before planting.

This bed is pretty big so I've got it split. Veggies on the left - several kinds of tomatoes and some carrots and zucchini seedlings. On the right I have some bee balm, lilies of some kind that ere there when I bought the house, and.. something else I picked up at the nursery that I liked but can't remember what it was haha.

I have some more empty spaces to fill but I'm really happy with what I got done today.

I can't garden for squat, but I've been helping plant stuff. Blueberries, pecan and peach trees and flowers.

We're having a bit of rain now but our garden is fruitful with my cucumbers and peppers threatening to start producing as soon as the weather is a bit warmer consistently.
