I've been fortunate enough to live in houses with AC or a cold basement to hang out in. My boyfriend and I have central air, and he has it cranked. I actually have to wear long sleeves and sweaters in the house because it's too cold in here for me, which I think is ridiculous, but he likes it cold at night for sleeping  -_-

Anyways. I've had several jobs where I worked outdoors or in hot environments, then fans, cold water and a cold cloth on my neck were my friends! (As well as rolling up pants/shirt sleeves) Last summer when I worked outside, there were several occasions where we would just take a few breaks and sit in the truck with the AC on for a little bit to try and cool off. That and one of our tractors had a cab and AC, so we were always fighting over who got to drive that one and stay cool  ;)

I have AC now but when I wasn't fortunate enough to have it I would go somewhere public that had AC like the library or the mall.

To be honest, in the few hot days we've had in the UK, I was in hospital. So I just had lots and lots of milkshake. I can't take a dip in the pool, either, because I'm not allowed to get this dressing wet. Mainly I just sit outside with a cold drink filled with ice, or just stay in my room with both windows wide open, in a vest and shorts.
Or even better, I lounge in the spare room which has 3 windows with one with no security latch (I don't know why), and the other two which open widely.
Though, all the last times it's been hot, I've just been like a dolphin in the pool. Who cares if that bodyboard is for 9-12 year olds? I'm going to use it!

What is this "hot" you speak of? It's been rainy and miserable in this part of New York for 2-3 weeks now, although it was hot and humid yesterday

I have AC though

I moved to Iceland :S

No, seriously, that is my solution. I swore that I will never leave Iceland between May and September and I won't unless I *absolutely* have to.

Oh, or unless it's to visit the South hemisphere :)

We have lots of box fans and floor fans all around the house. The ac works downstairs but not upstairs. The chinchilla needs cool so we keep her downstairs and the other animals so they don't get a heat stroke. It's going to be close to 100 all this week.

I have been using Box fans, Taking cold showers. Its pretty hot here. My cat keeps meowing at me energy less..as if to say winningly "fix it" Meeoowww..
He should be laying in the unfinished room in the cement floor where it is cold. but he is loyal to me and sleeps in my hot room on the carpet. There is not much we can do other than fans though. I'm sorry you are having a difficult time keeping cool

It got so hot here last summer we where all in tears.

I got a water bottle and misted water on my legs and feet. your feet have a lot to do with your temperature. so you might try setting a box fan at the end of your bed, and keep your feel cool. You might try an ice pack under your pillow near your shoulders. and drink as much as you can. tea is good because not only dose it taste good but it repairs cells in your body.
you could also try urbal bathes to re hydrate your skin by taking a bath with.

2 Green tea bags,
2 table spoons of honey.
2 eggs,
a tea spoon of olive oil,
5 tea spoons of oat meal.

this way you won't need lotion when you get out and it won't clog your poors. That way you wont sweat as bad and it won't feel gross sweating out lotion.

I can't tolerate hot weather because of the medication I'm taking. Use to have no problem, especially dry heat. Am so glad I'll be moving to WA in a few years to live. Love cold, cloudy, and rainy.

Currently 84F outside.

We don't have AC and our apartment is facing south with huge windows making our home a greenhouse on the hottest of days. Because of our cats we can't open the windows much either. We make sure they have shades to hide in and have a fan and a airmoisturiser (is that a word?).. but easiest for me to stand the heat is to keep my feet cold. My feet regulates my bodytemp, as long as they're wam I never freeze and if they get cold I'm in for a trip, lol. A week ago I bathed my feet in really cold water on the balcony a little too long and spent the rest of the day and evening under a blanket, drinking tea and freezing like crazy. Outside on the grass people were sunbathing in bikinis. My body is weird.

I live in Australia, it's the middle of winter and bloody freezing here :S (for some of you I know this isn't that cold ... but) we have been in the -1's & -2c some mornings lately (which is around 28 - 30f). I do hate the heat though, so not complaining. Just rugging up in lots of layers & thick jackets lol.

I took lots of liquid with me to my work place since today was extra hot for the usual. I just arrived home and read that 108 age old heath recod has broken today in Baja (a hungarian town) it was 40 Celsius degree but the absolute record was 41.9 C degree in 2007

Ps.: Yahoo says it's 99F degree in Budapest at the moment. I guess it's the same here too since I leve only about 20 kms from Budapest.

I just stay in the house most of the time with the AC and fans on. :P I'm not an outdoors girl, anyway. I always carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go, regardless of weather.
