Gecko Eggs Just Hatched!!!! UPDATE- More Hatched!!! 8-3

Thank you all! I already love them to death! The three that hatched are from my boy Murphy. Not sure who the mom was tough

I wish one would hatch with dragon wings. As that would be the most epic and awesome gecko ever!!!!

Those are soo cool looking!!! Can I be nosy and ask what the brown sub-strate is in those plastic cups? Does it help keep the eggs in place? Or does it help with keeping the temperature under contol?

But anyways, congrats on all your new babies!!!

That is vermaculite. I use it mixed with water as a substrate for humidity purposes so the eggs get enough moisture and the incubator doesn't cook them. It's used for succulent gardening and other gardening techniques as well. From your local plant nursery. Very shiny!

I wish you were closer! I would totally share! Someday I would like to have an online store and ship them to buyers like many other breeders do. But for now, I supply the mom n pop pet stores in the area as well as family, friends, and co-workers. I'm too scared to ship. Plus, you gotta start small. I only have 2 small colonies right now, and they are all very special and unique! Love them all!

I bred Crested Geckos for years, only up until recently because I don't have as much time as I used to, but it was always exciting to get new babies. I remember one summer it seemed like I had hatchlings every day, they were the first thing I checked on every morning and there was almost always a clutch waiting for me in the incubating cups. I still have a handful of rhacodactylus geckos (cresties, gargoyles, sarasinorums, chahouas, and a trachrynchus), so eventually I'd like to get back into it someday.

Update!
Got 2 more babies that just finished hatching out! One is having a lot of trouble, and I do not think it'll make it blah! mother nature! But the other looks healthy and stunning!
Edit: M.2.2. DOA, trapped in egg for too long. I tried to help him out as he was not breathing, but I didn't get it done fast enough. RIP
