re painting symbols
« on: October 02, 2013, 05:37:42 PM »
Hi all
what do you use to repaint the symbols with...I know paint of some sort lol but which kind!
Also does it need sealing and what would I use to do that as well :)
I have a couple with rubbed symbols and as I'm rather artistic thought I'd try that part of restoring my ponies in need.
Thank you

I think you will probably get the best advice on this over in Customs so I am going to nudge it there for you.

I use acrylic paint for pretty much any painting on a pony including symbol touch ups, and as far as sealant goes, I use folk art plaid liquid sealant in matte/satin for the body and gloss for the eyes.

I know other artists highly recommend matte modge podge and testors dulcotte sealants.

I hope that helps :)

I'm not sure, since I live in Canada. However here are a couple of links, one is the thread all about sealants and the other link is multiple tutorials, recommended products and links to other sites where the items can be ordered.

I know we have customizers in the UK, so I'm sure someone will pop on and provide you with more information :)
