Title: Help with Pony Hair Colour :o
Post by: Opiumskye on December 14, 2017, 03:53:45 AM
Hi Ponies

I hope you are all very well ^_^

I just bought a Baby Sister Celebrations Pony (attached) and as you can see her tail is completely gone :(
I would like to try my hand at rehairing the tail but need help on what colours to get.

Another collector recommended dollyhair.com and I can find what blue to use, but not sure which pink I should get. As I am shipping it to the bottom of Africa , I don't want to make a mistake.

Are you sure its tail is 100% gone ? When I got this Applejack, her tail was gone too, but it happened to be inside its body ! I didn't have to buy any hair at all.  Well, this must be very rare, but at the time, I was sure her tail was 100% gone, so I share this idea : Check inside her body through the tail hole.

FYI: Dollyhair has terrible customer service... they are on my Bad Trader List...

There are a few other sources for hair though!!!

Oh, I never knew. For what reason they have bad customer service ? What did they do wrong ? I am curious.

Dollyhair is at times slow/nonresponsive/unhelpful in responding to customers and has gotten orders wrong.  In the past the hair bundles were rather small as well, although that has been corrected as far as I can tell.  I have never had trouble and continue to order from the site on occasion, but some customizers avoid it because of the issues.  Other hair sources don't have as many genuine MLP color matches.

Sometimes you get your stuff really fast, other times orders get 'misplaced' for long periods of time.. and only lots of complaining makes them 'magically reappear'.  If you're not in a hurry it's an option, just be aware going in that you won't be getting good customer service in all likelihood.  They do generally make things right in the end, but it can take a donkey's age.

Thanks for all the great advice  :)

Who else would you recommend that offers good service?

All of the other places don't seem to have the troubles DollyHair does - I usually go for one of the UK shops because shipping is more affordable to Canada, but your experience may vary.

I would also recommend Mylittlecustoms.uk if the shipping is less expensive for you. The customer service is really good and the owner is a very sweet person, always there to reply quickly to mails and take care of our orders. She uses her facebook page to keep us informed of the restocks.

I've ordered alot of hair both from Dollyhair and Mylittlecustoms. I've personally never had any problems with Dollyhair. Only once was my order delayed, and they sent me another package of hair for free as an apology.

The main reason I buy from Dollyhair over other places though: Dollyhair simply seems to send more hair and its also cheaper. With Dollyhair's bag of hair you can easily rehair 2 adult ponies, but with Mylittlecustom's bag of hair I was able to hardly rehair just one adult pony. And the price being $3.12 vs £3.50.. Well yeah. I hope I will never have problems with Dollyhair.
