Keeping potted plants near ponies?

Hello everyone! I have been organising my collection on one of my shelves, and wanted to place a potted plant next to the ponies to block them from sunlight.
This got me thinking, would the moisture from watering the plant cause damage to my ponies? I Do have a couple more small plants on display at the other side of the room where there are no ponies.
I am not sure if proximity alone could cause rust (I have a couple ponies with washers in pristine condition) or maybe mould, or if any at all could cause damage.
The air in the room is usually dry but I live in a damp climate so it could be more humid than I think.
Does anyone in the community have experience with this? Thank you!

Hmm, that’s tough.  Heat, sunlight and humidity are hard on ponies.  Anything that might encourage mold is kind of risky. 

That doesn’t mean your setup is going to be a problem.  I just don’t know the exact amount of humidity it takes to cause problems.  Otherwise, I’d suggest getting something that can measure it.

What kind of plant? I think mold would be the biggest threat but depending on the plants water needs, it might not be a problem. I'm thinking succulents would be fine but something that needs to be watered frequently you should stay away from.

I think it should be fine if the plants aren't touching the ponies, and if when you're watering them, the water doesn't get on the ponies. I keep my ponies on my bookshelf, and I have potted succulents on my windowsill next to them (a fair distance apart), and it's been fine that way for years.

I have a few ponies amongst plants, the ponies are totally fine, I just have to dust them down every so often just as I would with everything else.
The only thing I would be wary about is flowers dropping pollen

I've never mixed my plants and ponies except for photographs. There's a curtain between the sill and the dvd unit which has some G4s on.

I think it depends a lot on the general room atmosphere, but I personally would keep them apart. It might not be the plant, but the soil that could spread mould.

Note that I'm also in the UK
