I'm currently rehairing a Halloween Themed Bubbles! She will be orange gradient with blue sparkly eyes, purple eyeshadow, a cauldron with multicolored bubbles for her cutie mark. Her mane/tail is a blend of purple, green and orange.

Bumblebee is coming along nicely too--my Instagram-bambiraptor_feinbergi-has the latest WIP pics! It's taking me a while to get his body painted, but I want to stay true to the Transformer look as much as possible. His scooter needs some finishing touches too!

I am still working on my Halloween swap pony. Plus I have two commissions to finish and two gifts to make. I'll be honest, I'm getting sick of working on ponies I want to make miniatures or do some needle felting, but if I try to do those I feel guilty about not working on ponies

And BC, it's okay to work on other things hobby wise if you're not in the mood to make ponies. I'm sure folks that commissioned you and those you're gifting will understand. <3 I draw and write when I'm not up for painting/rehairing ponies, fwiw.

decided to prep a bait windy for a starlight glimmer g1 custom! sadly the glue was really on the head good, so i tore the neck plug while cutting it out. its okay though, superglue fixed that issue. i felt bad baiting a windy, but she was missing her tail and her eyes were smudged. plus i already have her NM in my collection so i thought it would be good to use as a base. hopefully i can get some new paint soon, i really hate mixing colors. super excited to start working on her!

My Halloween swap custom was shipped earlier this week and my desk is clear once more. I don't have any great plans for the rest of the year, custom-wise. I'm probably going to take it easy and gather some inspiration for next year. I do have two WIP fakies lying around, if I have the energy I could finish those. And I have one doll custom that's also WIP since forever, she needs hair and some clothes. Rehairing is not my favourite part, can you tell.

Hello all, just wondering what the current feeling is about using G1s with stickiness or age spots for custom projects? I have a few that are fairly bad and I'm not sure whether to advertise them or lay them to rest. I won't have time to work with them now. Sometimes if cleaned and dried etc. I have noticed that ponies like this can remain stable for some time but I couldn't guarantee it. If they are going to start leaking or getting worse again I'm not sure it would be worth the time and effort for a customiser.

Hmm, it depends on *how* sticky or gnarly the base pony is. If it's basically it's own ecosystem, I would say no. Otherwise, I think it'd be fair game. That's my .02.

I'd say no to both. Stickiness will ruin the paint and age spots do come through paint after a while.

Does anyone have any good armature tutorials? Armature has always been my least favorite thing about sculpting. I'm trying to not be so negative about it because it's a crucial step, but I don't enjoy it at all. I have a lot of trouble wrapping wire to make a coherent thing.

And I'm finally doing Custom Ponies again!!! They've been waiting for ages & I had some part-finished & some prepped ready to start & one just needing a mane. Well a certain "had to do" project arrived, so she got new hair, & so did new mane Pony, while I started the paintwork on another...
I put this off for too long...
