That is...very bizarre.  O_o  lol  Well good luck getting him sorted out!  Though in my humble opinion, the white looks less nasty than the brown, from a strictly appreance POV.

cancer is in no way contagious. He doesn't have to be kept away from his friends. I've never ever had cancer spread from one pony to another. I've never seen it turn white before but I never boil my ponies.

I've never boiled ponies, but plenty have cancer and it hasn't spread between ponies. You may be able to paint the spots, or you could make him a most awesome jersey (heck, I'd attempt to make you one) to cover the spots up.

I recently got a tuneful that has a white underside so I understand how much those white spots stand out on a dark blue pony.

It's less noticeable, I agree.  But the whilte kinda looks cool.  Like pinto or dapple markings or something. LOL  Well I hope you get him looking how ya want, whatever you intend to do.  C:

I wasn't trying to imply "cancer" was contagious, however when you have an unexpected reaction with any kind of product, it's always better to be safe rather than sorry and keep said patient away from others until you figure out why it happened.  For all we know there could be some lingering chemical contamination on him that is causing the plastic color to leech.

i had a pony do this! it was a tuxs'n'tails! i bathed him in hot water and bleach and his brown spots went white... i totally paniced as well. they turned back brown after a day or so!

it was very strange.

It is really good to know that boiling dark blue ponies with cancer spots can cause an interesting result.
I've never boiled a pony before and have always been wary of it (you know melting, disfigurement).
When in doubt with cancerous ponies it's easy enough to take antibacterial soap and warm water to scrub...

His spots have now turned back to brown :3 they're not as noticeable as before either, which is awesome... A jersey might look adorable on him, but I can't sew to save my life @_@... I think just because he's probably not going to be worth anything anymore either, I just might touch up his symbols too and try to restore him as best I can, maybe I"ll try to match paint to his body color and touch up the cancer spots too, I dunno

I have heard of this happening before as well - the brown to white to brown again...I believe its to do with exposure to oxygen when the discolouration comes back.

I had a fascinating conversation with a client yesterday about what causes discolouration in plastics and its a really interesting angle to consider what actually causes this "ageing" I am going to post on it later as there was so much content that I want to make sure I get everything typed up right lol! Its this new information which makes me think the colour coming back is because of re-exposure to oxygen.
