Title: Bunny Hop
Post by: gemini_pony on May 06, 2019, 03:41:00 AM
I have a bunny hop I saved ages ago with not hat or bunny. It was really yellow but i sunfaded it to a pretty good white.  Nowwwwww.... Should I try to find a replacement hat? I was thinking of making one and new bunny. I always refer to them as a he for some reason :P

I'd say go for the repair yourself. I haven't come across a loose hat & bunny figure for her in my casual browsing in forever. She's actually one I'm still trying to find complete. (Mind you I have 3 of her in varying condition; hat or no, but with no original bunny. If someone would make a nice repro bunny that would be immensely helpful to the community hint hint...)

I thinkI be just happy to get one anyways and try and sculpt a rabbit.

I am sure there was someone here who had actually done that for one of these ponies...I wish I remembered who it was, as their images might have helped give you inspiration.

I don't know why but the US releases of that set have such pretty hair but such delicate symbols :'(

Now I feel lucky for finding a complete one at kingsday last year. I really love her :)

I actually have one with a rabbit. I wonder how hard it would be to make a resin mold.

The European ones seem more sturdy - I don't think I ever saw a broken pocket pony in all my carbooting years, and last year there was an intact one at the toy fair as well. I don't know why. They have worse hair but more sturdy symbols...

You don't make resin molds - you make silicone molds and pour the resin into it. It is quite easy if you're experienced with the process and have the correct materials in hand.

Maybe I'll ask my friend that does resin stuff

I may make this one a special hat and bunny since I already have a complete one.
