Is it a good idea to mix pastel chalk into paint?
« on: March 03, 2012, 04:32:30 PM »
Or will it make the paint chip and peel later? I'm unable to go get any paint any time soon and I needed a few browns. So I decided to try and mix a bit of chalk pastel dust into white paint.. while I like the color I got so far I'm a little worried about how the paint will hold up later

Just some Chalk Pastels I bought while I was still in collage. I think they are by Pro Art: http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Art-Chalk-Pastel-Color/dp/B0027AGGLS this one except my pack is red

Okay I can't really find anything but how about testing it out on some paper and see how it dries?

I know it works on canvas and polymer clay. I *think* I heard some say they've used chalk pastels for blushing pony cheeks. Google may not have a lot of samples, have you tried DA? I would worry more about fading than peeling...
