How Long to Wait Before Reporting a Seller on Ebay?

Hey.  So I'm not sure if I actually have a problem yet.  It's only been four days since I purchased a pony on ebay, and the seller hasn't responded to any of my messages asking about combined shipping and tracking...

Just got me thinking though, how long should you wait, on ebay, before assuming that the person isn't going to ship your item?  Obviously I'm not to that point yet, but I'm just curious--what do you all think is the cutoff?  How long would you wait for a response and a shipping update before reporting?

Maybe I wait too long, but I don't sweat till it's about to hit my PP date. Then I get after them. I'm sure others react more quickly though.

Yeah, I usually wait until around the PP date, too. Sometimes I forget and it goes past that which makes it a bit pointless. I'm probably too lax!

I am probably in the more lax category too. If the seller is new or newer I try and give the benefit of the doubt, as they may not know it's almost required by Ebay to enter the tracking info.  Was it the weekend when I purchased, as they may not conduct business on the weekends. Those are just a couple things I take into consideration before I panic.

But if it has been several weeks and no item and no contact then I most likely will look into opening a case.

How long does their shipping time say it will be?  I would open a case if they are not communicating and it has been over 72 hours.  Especially as they have not even sent you an invoice yet.

Shipping is from Britain and could take over 14 days, but I have sent several messages asking about combined shipping (I was originally going to purchase another pony too--I am definitely not going to do that now.)  And I haven't gotten any response.

I paid for tracked shipping, and the order hasn't been updated to show a tracking number.  So I'm pretty ticked.
