I met a local pony friend at an Italian buffet for brunch. I had a lot of fun, she and her husband are amazing people, the food was really good... I ate too much. And tomorrow's dinner will be BBQ at my brother's house, so there will probably be chips and some form of dessert. My body feels tired just thinking about it.

I'm working at the moment, but I have plans to clean and meet a local pony person and play an extended session of D&D (BBQ for dinner!). Not all on the same day, but it's part of the weekend so I'm lumping them all together.

I batch cooked the rest of my meals for the week, did a short morning stretch where my back performed the way nature intended, and I'm 10 ounces away from meeting my hydration goal!

I can still feel some tension in my back, especially when I've been sitting in a poor position for a few hours, but it's night and day compared to 4 weeks ago. I'm so excited to get back to my original goals, here's to not going overboard and suffering a relapse!

@banditpony

My go-to Paleo breakfast is paleo breakfast muffins. You'll need at most a muffin tin, bacon, eggs (I also use cooking spray, but I hate cleanup and that makes it so much easier to get the muffins out when you're done).

Line the muffin tins with the bacon, one strip to a cup, and pop them in the oven at 350 degrees. Personally, I like to put baking sheets under the tins, so any excess oil/grease/egg doesn't get all over the bottom of my oven.

While the bacon pre-cooks, mix up the eggs in a mixing bowl, preferably one that can pour without making a giant mess. You're looking at a ration of one egg per muffin tin.

I like to add cheese to my muffins. You can also add diced veggies if you want. This is also a good time to grate/wash/dice, etc.

After 10ish minutes, take a look at the bacon. If it looks slightly crispy, take the tins out and add your extras, then pour in the egg mix. You do not, I repeat, NOT want to fill them to the top. These do puff up quite a bit.

Pop the muffin tins back in the oven, wait 20-30 minutes or until you can stick a knife in without having it covered in un-cooked egg. Just like baking!

I put them in tupperware and then stick them in the fridge. 30 seconds in the microwave and you have breakfast! Or lunch! Or dinner! Or snack! They're pretty filling and pair well with fruit if you want something sweet that doesn't involve processed sugar.

I was all set to do a basic workout yesterday morning, only to realize my back was way tight after getting up. So it's another week of stretches and grumping while I wait for my back to heal.

I did manage to get a lot of chores done, even with the sore back. The skies have mostly cleared of smoke (for now...), so I'm going to try some walks in place of body weight workouts.

My main goal this week is to clear off my desk so I can get some designing and printing done. I can do cello and cross stitch in other places, but I can only 3D print at the desk, for obvious reasons (that's where the computer and printer are).

I got my full water intake yesterday and the 7.5 hours of sleep I try for, even though I was at my brother's house instead of my apartment. My back is feeling a little stiff, but that could be because I always end up sleeping sideways on his bed (I can't explain it, his mattress is WEIRD).

I'm looking forward to heading home after work and getting some chores and prep done. I'm going to do a very cautious baseline workout test tomorrow and see how much improvement I can accomplish by the end of next month.

Off Topic / Re: How is your sense of direction?

I can read maps and I'm lucky to live in Colorado where we have a very clear landmark (mountains are west). However, if I'm going somewhere new, I always leave at least 20 minutes early because I will never find the place otherwise.

Don't ask me for directions, however. I can follow them, but I can never for the life of me remember street names. Once I've been to a place a few times, I can remember landmarks while passing them but never while trying to dictate how I get there.

Welcome back Crowning Glory and good luck with the dream position!

It's now been exactly 3 weeks since my back first sprained. I'm back in my car, but wow is it different from driving my mother's automatic Scion! I had to readjust all the mirrors, the chair and the radio stations (not her fault, apparently something broke while she had it and they had to play with the electrical).

Back is feeling tight, but no actual pain. I've been able to mostly bend like a real person, so my plan is to do some GENTLE exercises on Sunday and see how things go.

I'm meeting up with a local pony person next Thursday for lunch, which is way exciting because I didn't think there were any other collectors in my area. At least, not any active ones.

I'd also like to donate a prize, custom cross stitch pony headshot coaster, G1 or G4 (I don't have any G2 or G3 designs prepped, sadly). It can go to any contest that needs one. :)

I attended Kirk's panel at the Pony Fair. Wasn't Bill the one who designed the Dance 'n Prance and had the body mold they used to reverse engineer the 25th Anniversary Ponies? How exciting to have an interview with him!

Agreed.

In other news, switched vehicles with my mom and I'm back in the stick shift Saturn. I can feel the stretch, but no pain. Still, the less time I have to spend in the car, the better.

Cello lesson was cancelled, my teacher's getting ready for a cruise. I won't see her for 2 weeks, so I'm going to have to seriously up my practice time. I want to impress her when she gets back. :)

I'm watching my brother's dog/house tomorrow, so I'll see if Bamboo wants to go for a nice walk in the evening. Provided the smoke doesn't descend and ruin that plan.

I hit my water intake goal today, and my body keeps wanting me to do a full body stretch... which I have been mostly avoiding because I don't want to tweak my back. I can still feel is stiffen up and whatnot.

Switching cars tomorrow and cello lesson in the evening. I want to do some tidying in the living room and batch cook my primal meals for the rest of the week. The time of No Carbs approaches!

35th Anniversary Pegasus and Unicorn Set

Strawberry Surprise
Sandcastle & Shovels

I'll be running around as many Targets as possible tomorrow. I really want those 35th ponies!

I'm feeling so loose and capable today, it's hard to keep from over-exerting. My stride is fluid again, I can transition (stand/sit/twist) with only a little discomfort and I was able to sit for a little over an hour without stiffening up!

Of course, that means I have to start eating better and planning out my exercise routine. I definitely won't be jumping straight into anything high-impact. I'm thinking T'ai Chi for the warmup and some gentle body weight exercises, like squats and incline pushups.

I know buddies are random, but Ponyfan, I'd love to practice French with you. It was my major in college, but I hardly get to use it these days.

Did my batch cooking last night and I now have breakfasts for the week and lunches through Wednesday. I'll have to cook more on Thursday, but I ran out of potatoes so that's a grocery trip.

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about my back, but it's hard. I keep stopping myself from trying things because I don't want to flare it and undo all my hard work.

They just announced the date and ticket sales date for the concert my best friend and I go to every year, so I'm eyeing that as a good status review date, 9/5.
