Pony and her curls
« on: March 05, 2012, 08:42:27 AM »
I have a Gingerbread (Molasses) who is in need of a makeover. I know how to do straw curls, though I have yet to attempt it

The only thing is, she still has her factory curls, they are just a little out of place but very dirty/dusty.

Should I redo her curls altogether or is there any way to salvage the original curls?
Thanks all :3  :lovey:

Wash her up and put some soft curlers in to style her hair, she'll be ok!

I would try and fix the curls first....trying to retain any kind of original or factory curl is a great idea! At the end of the day if its still untameable you can start a fresh with straw curls
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

When I try to keep original curl in, I wash the hair by 'dipping' it in warm water and gently swirling it.. then I take the hair out and press it dry with a towel.

it's pretty easy to tame original curls if they've gotten a bit messy, i asked about this a couple of months ago when i found a Rosedust with crazy hair that i thought could be salvageable original curls. i was directed by someone to this tutorial: http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/hair.html#Curls

following what it advised on there my Rosedust went from this:

I would also try to save the curls first.   Usually, I rinse them gently in cold water and keep them held in the palm of my hand, never letting them go.  If that doesn't work, then I'd go for straw curls.

Good luck!  :)
