I've been wanting to get a cutie mark tattoo for the longest time.
Has anyone ever gotten one, and if so, can I please see it?
I'm a little nervous, but I figure it will look better than a full blown mlp on my hip.
I'd love to be my own mlp. <3

If the idea of permanently marking my skin even unto wrinkly old age did not intimidate me, I'd be all for it myself. Sounds like fun. That said, my skin is unmarked excepting stretch marks, freckles and other such natural skin dealies.

Not a tattoo, but I recently had a ginormous bruise on one hip. DD/DH kept calling it my cutie mark.

Ooooh, I don't have one, but I definitely agree that it would be better than a whole pony. xD
Symbols and things always make better tattoos than actual characters... A cutie mark could actually be pretty cute. :)

I wouldn't get a tattoo on my hip (don't want it to stretch out if I gain weight, which I suppose is more or less inevitable eventually), but I eventually have plans to get Little Flitter's hummingbird on my wrist. But I want to have a real job first and can't afford to have visible tattoos, just in case.

Haha. My browser has an addon that turns words and phrases into pony-related equivalents, and changes "tattoo" to "cutie mark." Thus, the thread title reads "I want a my little pony cutie mark cutie mark..."
That having been said, I've thought for a long time about getting a tattoo, and the only major thing that's stopped me is the fact that I have things I'd rather spend my money on. I haven't thought much about a MLP tattoo, though... hmm. I'd like to see others' tats if anyone out there has some! A major setback in having an adorable cartoon pony permanently drawn onto your skin is that it might make one's sex life awkward... for that reason I'm more inclined to get a cutie mark/symbol on my hip/thigh rather than a whole pony, as much as I'd like to do the latter.

I have plans to get some cutie marks in different locations of my body ... just random treats for whoever notices and knows they're pony marks. ;)

That's been my plan, though I have debated on exact locations recently. I originally thought about the hip or outer thigh area, but I am still not 100% on the idea of them being there, as they are prime spots for clothing rubbing against them. I definitely want them, though, have for years. Glory's and Twilight's are the symbols I have been wanting to do, and recently I have been thinking lately about getting my ponysona's symbol somewhere (though I am not sure about that, as I am not entirely satisfied with Mercury's symbol yet, and I don't want to regret a tattoo).
Right now I can't afford it, no job, and I am not at a comfortable place with my body quite yet. Need to lose some weight. I think I will do the tattoos as a reward to myself. :)

I havea tattoo low on the inside of the curve of my hip. It is kind of a cutie mark I suppose. It's a sensative spot so is hurt pretty decently. The outline was nothing but the filling in was a bear. It's a silhouette so lots to fill in.
The biggest problem I had was my pants/panties rubbed it while it was healing and that stung but also made it harder to take care of. More annoying really, overall it wasn't a problem.

NightWing - I share your unemployed pain... Waaaay back before I got the moon on my back, my tattoo artist just put up a couple of FF Blossoms flowers on my hip, but I didn't like it. I had thought it'd look prettier. I then discarded the idea and got a pony on my thigh instead. :)

I'd get one. It would have to be an original cutie mark though, not one from a Hasbro pony.. Although then I'm not sure what would make it a cutie mark, aside from location.
I already have a tattoo on my lower stomach which kinda goes out to my hip. My opposite hip is empty though. Hmm..

i want to get my pony persona on me, but i know my boyfriend would never go for it. he flipped his lid on my first tattoo, and it made matters worse when he found out i went and got 2 more LOL! i had to have all 3 of my bunnies on my leg though. i couldn't just have one. but i want a pony on my shoulder. :D

My favorite pony is Pretty Beat, but I don't think it would make a good tattoo lol

One thing to think about is whether or not you will ALWAYS love ponies and your tattoo. It's a fun idea, but you should get it done because it means something special to you. If ponies are a new love of yours, I think it would be smart to wait a bit and make sure that you will always love them. I feel like there will be a lot of people getting rainbow lightning bolts lasered off their butts in 10 years because they got swept away with the pony craze and didn't think before getting the ink (ha, I'm such a poet). I'm not saying that this applies to you, but it's something to think about. With my LF tattoo, I'm planning on waiting a while still. Possibly getting it when I hit the 5-year mark as an official "collector" :)

This! I would never get a tattoo on my hip. But I am thinking about getting Squirmy's snail symbol on my wrist. The only reason why I haven't done it yet is that it wouldn't match my other tattoos in any way...

My worry about tattoos is in direct contraction to them - I wouldnt want one because they are permanent! [kinda defeating the purpose if you see what you mean plus I am a coward which also would not help].
So to sum it up if they removed themselves say after a year or so and didnt hurt too much, I would go with it and have a Baby Fifi somewhere but....but if I feel out of love with ponies for any reason [shock horror] at some point in the future thats a pretty permanent reminder....

I love the idea of getting a cutie mark tattoo! I don't know that I would ever get one but I've always thought about getting one. I mentioned it to my husband one time, thinking he would think it would be sexy for me to have a tattoo at all, but he had the oppisite reaction! He didn't think I should mark up my body... :blink: I was sooo surprised especially since he has a tattoo himself! I had always thought it would be cute to have one on my lower stomach, like right above where my jeans ride, but after having my 2 kids I don't think its such a good idea anymore!! :lol:

I always wanted a tattoo but I am very sensitive to metals - so I would probably have a terrible reaction to the ink. :( LOTS of people have MLP tattoos though - search the forum for lots of examples.

Actually I got my tattoo before I had my son, this is one of the reasons I got it so low on my hip. I found that the skin closer to my hip bone really didn't stretch as much as higher on the belly. I carried him kind of high though. But the tattoo is no warped.

i would love one if i wasn't so dang indecisive! i think a great (and natural!) alternative is henna! granted, your symbol would be brown ( a lovely brown), but it's temporary and you could be a different pony every week. i actually may have to run by hobby lobby and get some henna now! :D

I've not seen cutie marks but I've seen quite a few really nice pony tattoos, I know someone who I think is a member here has a big sleeve based off the G1 cartoon and it looks gorgeous. :D

I'd never be able to get a tattoo, especially not something like a pony, because every few years I start to lose interest in my current hobby and move on to something else for a while :P But I do remember that there was a girl here who had a really adorable MLP tattoo. She actually had several tattoos (I think she had some flutter ponies, and the unicorn from TLU) but the one I really liked was a little sleeping baby Moondancer that I think she had somewhere near her hip. It was small, out of the way, and totally adorable. I think the only actual cutie mark tattoo I've seen, though, is the girl with Rainbow Dash's mark down her leg. I hope she likes FiM for a really long time :P

I was talking to my friend and she suggested I have custom mlp cutie mark temporary tattoos made and see how I feel about them after wearing them for a while. I may just try it out! The henna would be fun too!

If I ever got a pony cutie mark, the most personal one I could think of getting would be from my character (avvie), but she doesn't have one, so I guess that makes me exempt! Or maybe... I already have one, in that case!

I've always thought about getting a tattoo, something small like an outline. A cutie mark of somesort would be pretty cool! The only thing is, I can think of a reason not to put a tattoo anywhere I have thought I might want one LOL I wanted one on my wrist, but as a professional it's just not acceptable and I don't want to have to cover it up each day. I also thought about one on my hip but I've seen a friend who had one before she had her baby, and it stretched and looks AWFUL! So maybe one day I will have one, maybe not lol I'm not such a fan of needles! If they could just stick a drawing on and the ink soak in and last for a few years, I'd be ok with that!

This is exactly the right way to go about it, to test picture, colours and placement. Have a temp tattoo in about the same shape/colour/size and place it somewhere. If you can stand looking at said temp for a prolonged period of time, then yes, do consider going for your permanent one!
I thought long and hard about my current, non-mlp tattoo. In fact I waited 10 years before I decided I would get it! I now have a rather large one that starts on my right lower back and comes up my side.
It's not just the picture and placement, it's also the right tattoo artist that you will be comfortable with. Do find someone who has a reputation of being clean. If he will be drawing the tattoo, make sure he's a good artist, or at least make sure you like his art. I had the good fortune of getting an EXCELLENT artist. I merely described in brief what I wanted, and he produced a gorgeous piece of art I was glad to put on my person (http://www.flickr.com/photos/raydance/3987565740/).
I am considering a cutiemark tattoo but placement is an issue, and being a slightly OCD person, I am thinking of the cohesiveness of the tattoos on me too. :huh: We will see. I am considering G3 Minty's peppermint candies, but I know the white may not show. Perhaps I will do some research into the UV glow in the dark ink and reconsider another symbol!

I never thought I'd like pony tattoos but the girl at UK ponycon (I didn't catch her name...) with a tattoo of baby north star changed my mind. It looked adorable and really well done.
I'd really like a tiny tattoo of Gusty's leaves because I've always loved her and it's not really obvious, clashy or weird to non-pony fans. I don't know where though. Shoulder maybe?
Temporary tattoos are a great idea! I actually have some paper for making them here somewhere, totally want to try it out now ;D

XD XD TAF ! Scattered multi sized ones on your rib cage. Woot. Lol. My ex promised to get a pony tattoo if I'd get back with him..Thought that was funny. Honestly, here's how I look at tattoos..I have five, plan on getting more..And you know what? I don't even see them unless I look in the mirror when I'm naked, or twist around to specifically look at them. So when i'm old? I'm not gonna give a crap, because nobody is gonna be looking at me naked and if they are? Well, they can go tell someone stories about the old woman with a pony on her. lol. At least someone will get a giggle out of it.

I have 4 tattoos and want more. Be sure to be 100% sure you want that tattoo, so you wont regret anything. ;)
I have been thinking of a tattoo thats similar to Heart Throbs symbol, but until im 100% sure i want it, i wont get it.
I have seen on the internet quite alot of cute and rally awsome pony tattoos. :biggrin:

I think semi-permanent tattoos would be the best thing EVER- like ink that lasts 5-10 years or so. I guess there would be a long, awkward fading stage, but I'd go for it. I don't hate the tattoo I got when I was 16 (don't even notice it usually), but I think my husband would be happy if the one he got 6 years ago could have faded by now. Id have a bunch of them if they were semi-permanent. Gusty's symbol, definitely (might get that on my wrist some day anyway- I'll still be Canadian even if I ever stop loving MLP!), and maybe my persona's somewhere. But it would probably just look like orange blotches... so maybe not. :)

Just think really hard before you do it, and remember, tatoos are permanent, but your love of ponies may not be :3

Wow, I'm quite shocked that more people haven't posted their pony-ink; I've seen quite a few over the years.
I've been collecting as an adult for over five years now, so I don't think I'd regret a pony tat, but I'm very, very picky. For years now I've thought about getting mimic's parrot inked high on my bootie, just below the hip, but I really dunno if it'll ever happen. I've got plenty of ink as it is and I want to get my back-piece finished first and foremost and that won't come cheap. Pony ink will have to wait it ever it happens! XD
Would love to see more pony tats, though!!
