Introductions / Dutch Newbie!
« on: May 18, 2018, 05:03:59 AM »
Hi there, dear my little pony fans!

Well, as I am asked to introduce myself....my real name is Sanne, and I am from the Netherlands (Haarlem). As I am 31 years old, I grew up with G1 ponies so that is were my heart is! I bought a couple of G2's as well as they came in the shop years later, but it was a different feeling I had with them ;-) So I started collecting more G1 ponies over the years as they just stole my heart. It was way easier (and cheaper) back in the days to collect G1's! I paused collecting for over 10 years - I had other things onmy mind -  but since a couple of months I restarted my collectors-hobby ;-)
The good news is that I will move to a bigger house in a couple of months and then I finally can house all my ponies in my own home, as they are still at my mums house for years. My boyfriend is okay with that, and as we will not display them in the living room, but I am very happy to have them in a big big display cabinet soon ;-) Looking at Pinterest for creative ideas to display the ponies though.

I always try to spot ponies in the wild at flea markets, but the ones I now see are from G3. Well, at first I didn't like them at all...but now I do so I buy them and I have a small collection of G3's as well! But still, they are way more arrogant than the G1's :D But in comparison with other generations, G3 ponies are look the most like G1's so that explains why I still like them too. The ponies that are in the stores today, are too shiny and too glitter glamour and pink in my opinion. With too big eyes. Sometimes they don't even look like ponies anymore :'(

I was in the MLP G1 Facebook Group and I really enjoyed watching photo's and messages from other My Little Pony fans, I was surprised that today it still is a big thing. But recently I deleted my Facebook account, and the people from the Facebook Group recommended the MLp Arena! So here I am, to still keep in touch with my brothers and sisters around the globe that also collect ponies ;-)

Oh, and my name over here is Shaggy as that was my all time favorite G1 pony as a child. That was because of a story in a MLP-stripbook where Shaggy was bullied by other ponies and I felt sorry for her. I didn't have this pony in my collection as a child, so I was really happy with the real pony as an adult.
