Returned package from Brazil

I want to know if more people have the same experience or maybe I missed something.

End of January I shipped a pony package with track & trace to Brazil. Buyer was fully aware that it could take some time to arrive. And also got the track & trace from me to follow the package. Post office also agreed I filled in address and customs form correctly. So the waiting game and follow the package could begin.
Beginning of February the t&t was "item is at customs" in Brazil. Ok, let them check whatever they want to check.
Yesterday I saw at the t&t site that package could not be delivered and is being returned to me. So now I have to wait until it comes back to me. And we really don't have a clue why. Buyer doesn't want the money back, even offered shipping again.Well let's then wait until the box arrives and then decide how to solve this.
Ponies,1 plush, squishy pops and loose blind bag ponies are all G4 with the only sort of special the Guardians of Harmony Spitfire & Soarin with that flying thing and Diamond Mint with liquid in it. Everything else just common, low value. Stickers and cards as extra's. Luckily I made pictures of the box and addres/custom label.

Maybe it was Diamond Mint? The liquid inside could have been why.

Brazil imports prohibit "used consumer goods". That could possibly be extended to an opened toy? It seems very vague.

If it was just 1 pony thing the easiest would have been to take that one out and forward the rest. That's why packages are being opened. Especially from where I live they are very strict on their packages whatever is in it But maybe they did take it out and decided to send it all back.

But still it's vague yeah since I am probably not the first one sending toys.

So the package arrived back today.
No note from the Brazil Post why. But the Dutch label wasn't filled in either. Yeah underneath a sticker something with address (address is correct). I contacted customer service. First through chat but that person told me to contact Brazil post. That's BS. So 2nd attempt I called and this person was more helpful. Shipping will be refunded to me with the advise to ship it tracked and insured. So an investigation can be started if this happens again. With the note that South American mail has a reputation when it comes to mail.
That's not a lot extra shipping costs so I will pay those.
Because of the speculation it could have been the contents I suggested the buyer to swap Diamond Mint and the Wonderbolt for something else he wanted too but package was already on its way.

Just an update that the package arrived safely this time. So shipping tracked and insured is the way to do it. It took almost a month to get there. But there were also some national holidays.

So glad it got there.  It sounds like the buyer was really looking forward to those items. You did a good job.

Yes he told me a lot of the g4 merch wasn't sold over there. And a lot of ebay sellers didn't want to ship it to Brazil or asking extreme shipping price.
Instead of the Wonderbolts set and Diamond Mint he wanted another plushie and Guardians of Harmony Discord figurine.
So yes he had a lot of patience which I am thankful for.
