Title: Price Check on Mimic
Post by: CowgirlApplejack on April 14, 2012, 09:41:39 AM
She has 3 spots on her chest (visible in pic) and rust spots on the bottom of two hooves (not visible in pic)...otherwise she's in mint condition :( Anybody know what I should price her at?

If she has cancer, I'd say maybe $20.

I agree with PP even with the spots she's worth $80-$90

They don't look like cancer spots. It looks like...for lack of a better word, a tattoo, where ink has soaked clean through. It's not just on the surface, it's weird! And I was able to clean up the rust on the hooves with softscrub (it's still there, just not as dark as it was). But holy cow, still worth at least $80??

She has been seriously all over the place on price and recently on ebay anywhere from $50 to $125 - but she seems to be on average around the $80-90 mark as Ivy and Party have said...however I think the marks will take maybe $20ish of her value and make her around $60-70 - so high but maybe a little lower than normal

She's a gorgeous and uncommon pony :) And you don't find many people willing to part with her, so the demand gets pretty high at times.

From the picture that does indeed appear to be cancer spots. I would price her somewhere around $60-$70.

The weird part is she was sold in stores, but my guess is the production count was low.

I have a question and I saw this and thought I would ask it here instead of making a whole new topic(hope that's allowed). I just recently caved in and bought a Mimic from Ebay and w/shipping and handling she totaled at about $81 dollars and from what I can tell of the pictures and the extras pictures I got the seller to send me other than a little but not bad frizz in her hair she looks in really good shape. So did I do pretty good? :O)

She's in a second year set - they always tend to be higher - Second year rainbows cost more than first, second year TAF's cost more than the first - second year princesses -they didn't have as high as a production run as the first and people tended to buy newer sets - not more of the same set if they already had some TE's they went looking for TAF and so on.. Plus Mimic was featured in an episode - The Golden Horseshoes which has always helped her popularity and the fact that she is a unique color, all of those draw the demand up.

She is lower in price than she has been in the past but I would say thats a good price for a nice Mimic congrats!

Seems she has gone up at least ten dollars on average since last year if she is worth 80 with cancer spots. I've seen mints of her sell for 50 however and severely damaged ones go for about 75 :P I think it really depends on the seller but she'll always remain a costly pony imo.

My Mimic has some of the dreaded pink highlighter marks but is otherwise gorgeous, and I got her for $80. If it's not cancer, I'd say she's worth about that much.

Yeah, mine has some very faint highlighter marks on her horn and side, barely noticable, but there. She was $80.
