Continuing our summer poll theme are the Sunny Scents. Very pretty set they are.
My favorite is Tropical Surprise. Her colors are just gorgeous! Teal, dark blue and neon green, with a warm splash of yellow and orange.
Thistle Whistle comes in a close second for her somewhat unusual color scheme and adorable personality.
Citrus Sweetheart 3rd for her vivid colors and cute pose. Heh, she reminds me a bit of a Ponyta.
I don't really care much for Pineapple Paradise.
I personally think Lavender Lake and Apple Spice feel outta place with the rest of the set. They would have done better with the Sweet Scenteds.

Coconut Grove is my favorite from the set. I love her colors and her coconut scent. She's easily one of my favorite ponies.

The only one I own of this set so far is Coconut Grove, I voted for Thistle Whistle, love her colors!

Hrm. I think this is the set I basically decimated in my collection because of the scents. I do actually have some that didn't sell which I ended up just keeping. Looking at the Wiki, I think I still have Thistle Whistle, Tangerine Sunset, Tropical Delight and Apple Spice.
I remember putting Thistle Whistle in the keep pile even when I was resorting these into what to keep and what not. And I still really like her. I actually forgot she was a scented one, so I guess her scent isn't too bad. So I'm voting for her. I think I actively chose to keep Apple Spice as well, but Thistle Whistle still wins.
I would really like another Coconut Grove one day, but one without scent as I really don't like hers :(
I had to look up Lavender Lake. I don't think I have ever had her, but her colours are gorgeous. I would really want to have her in my collection, so hopefully I find one one day with a good low key scent...
I've also never had Pineapple Paradise I don't think. I may have seen her but I am not so keen on her colouring.

Apparently Thistle Whistle also smells like coconut? Is her scent in any way different from Coconut Grove's or do they smell identical?

Either they smell different or my Thistle Whistle didn't get properly scented xD.

Dunno. My daughter's Thistle Whistle just has a very faint sweet smell, so I dunno how she was meant to smell originally.

I voted for Tangerine Sunset. She and Citrus Sweetheart have the only "sunny scent" that isn't eye-watering IMO.
Lavender Lake is gorgeous, but her scent is just. so. bad. :X Not even close to lavender, more like some dollar store air freshener that's going to give you cancer from breathing it. I think it's the same scent as Tropical Surprise, but I've only handled the unscented version of her and Thistle Whistle, so I'm not sure.
My Pineapple Paradise thankfully has a very mild scent, but I would only call it "pineapple" under duress. Apple Spice's smell is also pretty mild and not too bad, but it's not very tropical, so I don't know why she's in this set at all.
My Coconut Grove is so strongly scented that she's surely in violation of some international statute on chemical warfare. I had to quarantine her or she set off my migraines.

Now Coconut Grove had to live in the closet cause she stank. But in a good way which sounds odd but she smelled like suntan lotion. Which to me always meant the beach.

I picked Tropical Surprise because I love her unique colours (no pink, purple or white in sight!) but Lavender Lake is a close second; I think she's real pretty.

The only one I technically have is Coconut Grove, I actually have two of her! One MIB with the First 50 Pieces sticker.
I also have Tropical Surprise, but I don't have her in the original Sunny Scent pose, I have her in the "dress-up pony" pose from later G3 years, I liked her body color more in the pose, it's more pearly.
I voted for Tropical Surprise though anyway, because she is the prettiest of the set, in my opinion. Hard choice though, because they're all so gorgeous, I would honestly love to have them all.

Apple Spice. I love her colors and scent. I'm not surprised Lavender Lake has gotten zero votes so far. Her scent was pretty nasty IMHO.

I had a bit of a hard time choosing, as usual, but picked Coconut Grove ^^ (Apple Spice and Citrus Sweetheart are also favourites tho)

I always liked the entire Butterfly Island line. All those bright colors! I went with Thistle Whistle. I always thought she was pretty, and apparently so did Hasbro since she had a few extra releases as a bonus pony.
I think there were two batches of these - one that smelled *strongly*, and one that had a more moderate scent. When I was doing the G3 hunting thing, I was hunting for a few friends. The ponies I got at the collectible toy store had a tolerable scent, the ones I got at Target stank to high heavens inside the box.
I'm dealing with an over scented pony issue right now. I've got two fully scented Perfume Puffs that have been stinking up my closet for years. There's a 2-3 foot radius of stench with those things no matter how many bags I put them in, and anything within that radius is pretty much permanently scented now. I finally decided to do something with them. Six layers of plastic bags weren't enough. I have finally settled on 6 layers of bags, a small plastic bin that locks closed, and a handful of carbon packets on the outside layer of plastic to hopefully kill any scents that survive the 6 layers of plastic. We'll see if it works!

In my experience of scented ponies, scent dissipates more if the pony is open to air. I had a Butter Kiss sent in a lot last year and after 2 weeks in transit she had polluted the whole box to the point I had to air the ponies and recycle the box...
I am trying to remember if my Thistle Whistle came from you in one of our trades, goddessofpeep. I think she may have been a local find but I am not sure and her packaging is not accessible. It is interesting how the same set seems to have such different scent levels.
Was Thistle Whistle not popularised by one of the animated specials or am I confusing her? The special with Starcatcher...

I went with the unpopular choice. I choose Lavender Lake. I really like her. I think my second was Thistle whistle.

Yeah, the scent does eventually dissipate if just left out exposed to air. Unfortunately, the Perfume Puff scent makes me physically ill, so letting them air out isn't an option. And anyway, the ones I have a *perfect*. The collector in me winces at the idea of trying to de-scent them. One of them is Red Roses.
Another friend of mine found the same scent variation between the ponies at different stores. She's the one that actually called my attention to it!
Taffeta: From what I remember, almost all the ponies I bought for you were the USA store exclusives. I don't think I really bought anything for you that was available over there. There was already enough to buy just sticking to the store exclusives! Target was *very* busy with the G3s.

None of them, they all smelled so awful! i do like Thistle Whistle but I wish she wasnt scented.

I remember when these were released. At the time, Citrus Sweetheart, Lavender Lake and Thistle Whistle were the most popular ones.
I don't really have a favourite, I like them all. But Tangerine Sunset would probably be my favourite if she was in a better pose... She is actually very pretty but because of the weird pose she doesn't look good in photos.

I have them all MIB. Have never been a fan of scented toys, they always smell sickly to me. But I think that Lavender Lake is the prettiest of this set.

I don't own any of these ponies, so I am not sure how I would feel about the scent. However out of them Citrus Sweetheart was already on my wishlist so I voted for her.

Definitely Citrus Sweetheart! I have quite a collection of customs of her. She's my favorite G3 by far!

I picked Thistle Whistle because she's the only one I have :)
I just found her yesterday in a charity shop. She smells really nice.
I liked her in the cartoon too (though it's ages since I watched it), her whistling was cute.
