I'm so stoked! I've been eyeballing this awesome boy and his girlfriend (who is much shyer and looks gravid, so no pics of her yet) and today I just couldn't hold it back any longer and had to swoop them up!
We are still playing with names, but we had a good laugh when we thought about naming them Brad and Kathy.
BEHOLD! The Jeweled Lacerta!

Oh my goodness, look at those beautiful side markings. What a handsome boy, can't wait to see his lovely girlfriend!
-
What a pretty boy! His markings are mesmerising, he reminds me of those keychains you can get of animals made of beads. ^.^
-
Such striking markings - a beautiful boy!
-
Wow such beautiful coloring!! Congrats on your new friends!
-
He's so handsome!! Those blue scales are so pretty and it's like he has mosaic tiles on his back. I don't think I've ever seen one of these before :)

They are settling in well! I held him for a while this morning, he was pretty well behaved!

What a handsome gentleman. And his lady friend looks lovely as well.
-
Oh, they are gorgeous!
-
WHat a lovely lizard- can't say I've ever seen one before- even at the Reptile Expo-
Are they friendly?
-
They are pretty rare, even I've onl yseen them maybe once at a reptile show, and I work for Zilla so go to a lot of reptile shows lol.
They can be friendly if they are handled a lot. I would say they wont be as friendly as like a Bearded Dragon, but they can be held and pet. They can be fast though! Finding CB babies is kinda hard, but would be your best bet to getting one that will tame down more. If you are interested in some, I can point you towards a face book group where I know several people are breeding them and will have babies available this year. :) I might even have some, since I think the female is gravid.

That's awesome of you! I would love to have some lizards- but my wife is freaked out by the idea. I'm trying to bring her 'round slowly by taking her to reptile expos and we have an awesome reptile zoo about an hour outside of Seattle (in Monroe - seriously it is the best ever) - but there is still quite a bit of resistance. Maybe one day..

You guys won't believe what I woke up to this morning!!!

Very cool! I hope they hatch- I was just reading that it can be tricky with these guys

I wouldn't say any more difficult than other species. Just need some heat and high humidity. There's one that already looks like a slug but the others look perfect! It is a long time though, 90 days, for something to go wrong. About twice as long as my snake eggs will take.
-
Wow, they're so pretty! I haven't had any reptile pets in a while and I've been thinking about getting a lizard. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to try to find a rescue bearded dragon. :)

That's always the best way to go! They are easy (well, high maintenance, but easy) and definitely the puppy dogs of the reptile world!

Pretty awesome- I wish I could come see them!
