Is there any way to track down sightings? Or is the same old "nearby 3 step"
:/ No sightings nearby for me so far

Anyone not like the new update? I dont like the sightings tracking system with the grass and its annoying because this window keeps popping up saying im driving too fast, i click the button that says im a passenger but omg annoying lol! The Pokémon still feel tricky to catch since the last update.

I think a Pokémon I really cant seem to find here often is drowzee and Abra! Plenty of other Pokémon bit I have to go out near Dallas to find them! Suuuuuper curious what im going to find in Austin!

Im almost to Lv 23 (22 and a half), 125 caught 126 seen.

For Drowzee, try downtown Indy! I saw dozens of them over my 4 day con. It was to the point that me and my friends wished that the game had rocks we could throw at them (you know, like in the Safari Zone) to scare them off. We sat at a lure for an hour and got nothing but Drowzee. It was crazy!

From what I've seen from the people who seem to be beta testing the new tracking system (the one that includes showing Pokestops and such), I like the idea and I hope it works out so that we can all use that system. As it stands, I'm just glad that the Pokemon nearest you is FINALLY shown on the left side of the little thing at the bottom of the screen. It was just a little confusing to have it show up on the right, then you'd open the window and it was on the left.

I've actually had an easier time catching Pokemon today since I did the update last night.

There are plenty of Abra and Drowzee at my job!

I'm convinced that's how Drowzee come into existence. We have a ton of both.

Have the update, and it looks like it will be just as hard to track, especially with lower numbers of pokemon. I currently have 2 pokemon in my nearby list, so how the heck can I tell if I'm going in the right direction? I can't. So it still doesn't work for me, if those 2 pokemon are in the same direction. No matter which way I move, they will be in the same order until they drop off or new pokemon are added to the list.

If anyone is looking for a cheap prepaid phone, I finally gave in and bought a ZTE Maven (Gophone) for $30, so I assume all the similar models would work too. Except for the fact that I can't use AR since it doesn't have a gyro, it works perfectly!

I haven't played much yet, but I just hit level 6 taking the light rail around town. It seems like every station has two pokestops :) But I'm jealous of all the people saying they caught stuff in their homes. I'm stuck indoors, and nothing has appeared for hours

That seems strange. If nothing appears there for hours I'm guessing it never will, things spawn in the same exact places around here. If you were close enough to a spot you should get a new spawn every 15 minutes.

Iit seems like the more you leave the app open in one place, the more likely it is that a pokemon will spawn near you.  I read that on the first day, and I left the app open most of the time that first week.
Now something spawns near me every hour or so, usually a super common one for my area, so it's pidgy, geodude, ratata, ekans, sandslash, growlithe, or an eevee(they are really common here!)

I'm sooooo new to the Pokemon playing.  I downloaded it about a week and a half ago, and I'm surprised how much I like it!  I now have it going on my morning runs to hatch my eggs, lol.  So far I'm only up to level 11 and haven't evolved anything yet.

Thanks Ponycakes and lunar-scythe, I think part of the problem may be that I'm across the street from a large park. I get a lot of sightings from there, but they are unfortunately out of range from the comfort of my house, bummer. But, I left my game on as much as possible the last two days, and I started getting pidgeys from the house two doors down which is just in range from my bedroom :))!

Well my trip in Austin was a sucess for Pokémon hunting! I found Charmander at the same Starbucks I got the collector mug from, and I found a lot more after that near Mcdonalds and the mall! I also found a good amount of tauros for future trades! I was excited to finally catch a Pikachu there and I evolved my charmeleon into charizard!

Funny thing is.....on our way home today early morning from Austin we drove passed an area with lots of those gas silos near Killeen, TX. Sometime around that area I was playing PoGo and there was a growlithe nearby. We heard that a gas resupply exploded in Killeen on the news later that morning on the radio and I cant help but wonder if it was that growlithe.... xS

Started back to work this week and learned that Squirtle likes my room and pops up a few times a day. Seems different ones are around campus like Charmander stays by one room and ghastly by another. Lol I'll be the crazy teacher running around during lunch and after school catching them
