She's ButtBlasting Off? (W/pic) & Other POP Questions

Recently, thanks to clearances I got into the POP ponies.
I always felt they were too expensive for what they were. The simple snap-together 'starter kits' being something like 5 dollars for that small thing. However, clearance down to like 2.56 or so, made them reasonable so I started getting them. I also like little snap together mix and match type toys, so when they're low enough, it's nice.

But what were they thinking with this Twilight?

They didn't even bother to point the peg thing 'down' so the 'hair' wouldn't be shooting straight out like that. I can't help but see little kid "rocket ship blast off/rays" crayon lines with that. It's like she's blasting off!

How many different characters of POP did they make?
Is there a guide?

Why do the box-back photos SUPER NOT match what you get?
They show the 'curly plastilace' hair in much better colors than what you get in the box (ex. Dash is shown with yellow/red/blue/orange, but then you get surprise's 'hot yellow' instead, Zecora has only wrong non matching colors, etc)
Cutie Crusaders shows much more 'wild' design painted on them than what's there when you buy
It's like they planned to make these more matching/nicer, and then just didn't end up doing it
Were they trying to see how much like lala Loopsy they could be? "button" accent on legs, "sew" patterns in hair, etc?

I'm trying to get them all, but that Luna is still expensive.
If anyone has any fun Pop mix/match cute pics too, I'd love to see
I would love if they made boy pops, you could get so many with that too

I am far from their biggest fan but they are certainly pretty popular right now - Hasbro seems to think they are filling a market gap with them and to be fair "creativity" is the buzz word in the industry right now so no doubt they are doing exactly that. However I would agree they are not the best made but I think they are more about allowing kids to play easily than being very pretty.
