Title: Question on Re-generation Pullips
Post by: katrine2309 on July 14, 2016, 03:22:15 AM
Hi all,
So I have not been keeping up with the pullips releases since probably 2010  BUT - looking at Pullipstyle this morning I did see that they re-released some of the older generations a while back. I can't really say from the pictures on Pullipstyle - but what is the pullip collectors opinion on these dolls?

Are they worth looking at compared to the older versions?

I did try to do a forum search, but didn't find any specific threads on this, so please forgive me if I'm digging up a topic discussed years ago

I have a Regeneration Noir and I really like her. The original, older releases have some problems with their bodies- for example I have an original release Moon that I had to rebody because her neck snapped. It's a common problem with the type 1 bodies. I think some collectors prefer the original eye chips and the way they were painted, but it all comes down to personal taste.

Thank you, Radiance!  :)

Yes, I remember the old bodies - I had an Assa on type 2 back in the day, it was a joyful day when I switched her over onto an obitsu body. The type 2 really didn't connect well around the bust. Her upper body kept getting loose from her torso.   -_-

So, they are all on type 4 bodies then? Or is there a newer version after that as well? Never really seen or held a type 4, but I understand it to be similar to the type 3 (perhaps without the falling out knee problem and cracking?). Do you perhaps know where I can find some good close-ups of these girls?

Oh, and how many of the dolls were re-generated?

Let's see...
Moon
Noir
Paja
Anne
Principessa
Fanatica
I think that's right. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'd actually recommend the regens BC they do resolve so quality issues. The type 1s have A LOT of hair and it makes their head very heavy (rooted not wig also). My Noir's head always lolls to he side BC of this, makes her look more sinister I think.

I have regen Paja and Fanatica, there is slight differences in the face-ups from the original versions, but overall I quite like them. (also nice I can finally get my hands on a Paja).

Hehe, yes - exactly Lilithdrff! My thoughts too :P

Thank you SummerSkye! Fanatica and Paja are both quite high on my list of potential dolly buys, but first I have to re-think getting back into pullips! I sold all mine years ago - and never looked back before now! Internet is a scary place  :lookround:

https://pullipsandjunk.com/pullips-company/special-pullip-releases/regeneration-pullip/ generally the sweeter ones like Paja transition better than the more sinister ones like Noir and Principessa
