Another thing is that pastel horse toys are commonplace outside of My Little Pony now. There is simply more choice, which has likely affected its popularity somewhat. I think this is a really good point. There are so many brushable pony toys available now and G5 focused more on the small action figure toys with plastic hair. If this was an attempt to appeal to boys as well as girls so the toys will sell better it has sadly backfired.

Has G5 failed? I heard on Instagram that the leaked G5 Equestria Girls dolls have been cancelled due to low interest in the Netflix series. Whenever I go to a toy store I only see a couple of G5 toys. There haven't been any new toys released for months. Months go by between updates on MLPMerch.com
What do you think? Has this generation flopped?

I wonder if Hasbro intentionally made it less interesting to adults? I seem to recall someone else bringing this up when the movie first came out. Like maybe they were trying to reduce the adult attention the franchise is getting by making the media less fun for adults.
I wouldn't be surprised at all! The brony fandom make G4 more popular, and therefore more profitable, but the adult side of an adult fanbase caused problems for Hasbro. I can see why they wouldn't want it to happen again.

I could sit and watch FiM episodes back to back and not get bored. With this new show, the most I've managed to watch in a row is 3. I have to stop because it gets repetitive and I just feel like I'm watching Paw Patrol or something similar. It's really sad this is such a downgrade from FiM imo :/

It's really bugging me because I know I've seen this pony before but I can't remember where. I'm a big reader of toyboxphilosopher's blog so I might have seen it on there as an accessory to a doll, so maybe the Dollhouse is a better board to ask on? Today I got a Majesty from a car boot sale (UK) and someone has written S. H. on her back hooves in pink highlighter. If I remember rightly there is a user on here with a signature asking for people to look out for ponies marked with initials but I searched and couldn't find them. Can someone tag them?
Also - as it was hard to search the area for posts, is anyone else looking for ponies from their childhood? If there are multiple people I was thinking about making a database that can be easily searched for identifying marks on a childhood pony!

I won this pony on ebay because I was so intrigued. Pics used with the seller's permission: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginI don't believe this is the case of bad lighting because the seller has a lot of other ponies up for sale with pictures that show the right colours. I'm guessing this is a light blue Bowtie that has discoloured with age to be green? But she's just SO green, and the colour is so consistent - no patches at all. I think she's super pretty in green though. I really hope she's as green as she looks in the photos. I'll post an update when she arrives!

I feel like so many things are similar rather then different... that maybe it's possible that this was for another market. And that the tag could be wonky because that country didn't need safety stuff on the tag.
If I had to guess, I would say this. I would guess this plush was made for a limited run in a European country or two, perhaps because MLP was more popular there than expected. Maybe there's no copyright information / MLP logo on the fabric tag because it was all on the paper tag that has been lost to time? As for yarn hair, I would say that is probably because it's cheaper than nylon hair and Hasbro was expecting to sell these plushies for a cheaper price than in other markets (USA) If it's a fake it's really good, and better than any other fake toy of the era.
