Cheapest way to ship from the US to Luton England?

I'm rather new to shipping outside the US and I am looking to send a package to Luton, went to the post office and they gave me a quote of 150 USD which I just can't do right now. But it was like that was for 3-4 day shipping which I don't really need, this can take the slow boat from china so to speak. 

Any advice?

What is it that you're posting? Ive had alot of stuff posted to me from the US but its never been that expensive, even for a massive pillow plush.

It can easily be shipped First Class International. I am not sure what the weight is since you didn't mention what your shipping that I can give you a rough estimate on cost.

I'm shipping a very very VERY old laptop that doesn't work, a friend wants to play around with it, it would be around 7 pounds

That weight means you'll have to ship it priority or higher, so you're looking at about $65 if you ship from the post office, or you can save a little bit of money if you are able to print the postage online yourself.

NoDivision is correct at 7 lbs it is going to have to go Priority 

If you print your label from USPS's website it will cost around $57.66 but you will have to make sure to go to the PO and get the clear plastic like envelopes that will attach to the package to put your custom forms in. I believe there will be 3 or 4 forms that will print and all but one (for your records) will have to be attached to your package.  If you go to the PO the cost should be around $61.75, I am not sure where they are getting $150 but I don't trust the PO sometimes.
