seller canceled my bid?
« on: June 19, 2014, 04:29:50 AM »
this is odd , and im  quite annoyed by it

I was bidding on a fakie lot on ebay.
the listing had  few days left  to go,  and the seller had some other times listed as well.

so im just    checking my emails and there is one from ebay  notifying me that  the bid was canceled

and the the  auction is now marked as  ended,
checked the sellers other listings and everything has been pulled.

and im just sitting here  wondering what the hay just happened!
the seller only has a feed back score of 29 but they are all positives  so   im not sure   what the story is.

The seller probably accepted an offer from some other ebayer.  Or there could have been a problem with something in the lot and the seller pulled it to fix it.  Could be any number of reasons but I'd suspect they sold it to someone else.

tbh I just had an issue with ebay about how long they with hold money for, the seller could have been in a similar position, I would have pulled all my listings to had I figured out how (I also have about 30 odd selling feedback) just for the fact I know longer want to deal with ebay and unfortunately if I sold something I wouldn't be able to cancel my account for 21 days until my money was released.

Could be anything. It's happened to me before. Once it was because there was an error in the description of her listing? and I forget the other reasons. A seller did it to me like twice before and relisted and invited me to bid again.

The fact that the seller took down all of their listings makes me think they didn't accept an offer from someone else, but rather are either going on vacation or dealing with a sudden personal issue like a sick family member. Rather than risk delays in shipping and angry buyers while they are away, some sellers will take down all listings in these kinds of situations. They may have also had a frustrating experience with eBay buying or selling that has caused them to want to take a break (especially if they are a newer seller). I honestly don't expect foul play. You could always send them a polite message asking why the listing was ended and whether or not the item will be relisted in the future.

I think I am going to have to agree with flying_narwhal here, it sounds like it maybe more of a personal issue with this seller. It's annoying and frustrating, I know but people do have RL things going on.

I also agree perhaps a quick message to the seller asking what happened may shed some light on the situation for you.  It sure couldn't hurt anyways.

Earlier this year I had a seller who cancelled all their bids atleast on that certain item I was watching. I even saved a 'copy+paste' screenshot from that one. About a month later the seller relisted that item again, and the auction went on with the normal way. Unfortunately I could't bid high enough at that point so I didn't win  the auction. Felt annoyed anyway. >_<
