I was iffy on the g5 toys when they were first shown. I didn't care about the action figurey ones because I prefer brushable hair, but Sunny looked weird to me. She was shown from a better angle this time and kinda grew on me. But Pipp. Pipp. I think I'm super excited for g5 now. Pipp's toy is so beautiful, especially her hair. This might be in part because I love gimmicky ponies, though. Her soft, flappy wings are so lovely. I can't wait to get my hands on her.

Do you have a list of who you have available to trade? I have several of the ponies you are looking for on your wish list. Or are you also looking to purchase, or trade only? I have some G1 and G3 on your wish list. Mostly G1
I've re-added the ponies I have up for trade on the original post. I took them off for a cleaning session and forgot to add them back. I apologize.  I'm just looking to trade.

I remember I was an about 10 during the start of g4. I watched the show religiously, but I never asked for FiM toys. I remember it was because I thought only tv show characters had toys. But for Christmas I got a Ploomette and Rarity from the same set. I played with Ploomette so much more, and I would always ask for non-show characters. Eventually I stopped collecting ponies specifically because they started selling only show characters. (I even gave away my early g4 collection. R.I.P. my Silver Spoon and Twist-a-loo. I was dumb.  ) That's my little POV. I would also like to add that that the reason that the reason non-show characters undersold was probably in part because they weren't advertised properly. I watched a lot of kids networks, but I don't ever remember seeing non-show toy ads. I only remember things like the train set, wedding set, and princesses having commercials. I think they were only advertised through the in-box pamphlets. I hope g5 has better advertising. I wonder how they'll handle it, now that streaming and youtube are in the process of cannibalizing cable.

I'd really like to see good toys of g5 of some of the species shown in G4. It's plausible, they might reappear, since it takes place in the same world. Specifically the ones with hair, like donkeys, Kirin, and Hippogriffs, (and sea ponies. I'd like to see a mixture of the g1 and g4 designs.) I've wanted Haven Bay and Princess Skystar since they came out, but the hair quality was so low at that point in G4 I knew I wouldn't enjoy them. I'd like to see breezies again, too! Do they count as pony friends? I think their size and antenne makes them more like pony friends than flutters or wingers. I'd like to see it more g3 style, with the symbols, actual hair, and fabric wings. The g4 version was just meh. Course, I'd like to see more of the pony friends we already have in g5. Like zebras, lions, giraffes, etc.' And I hope we get more dragons!

I like the colors on Zipp, but I don't like their cheap looks and G4-ness. Sorry, but Hasbro ought to stay out of the stuffed toy side of things and simply license other companies to do it for them. Their G3 ones were nice though. Moonbow looks the most decent of the bunch. I see Trailblazer got screwed out of a toy. Maybe later?
ETA: I do like the sparkly hooves.
Ugh. They DO look really cheap, don't they.? It's a shame, because they mostly look cute, but those MANES. Just solid blocks of thin, printed, fabric. I'm not much of a plush collector, so it dosen't really upset me, but it does make me a bit worried about quality for g5 in general. Hitch not getting a plush here makes me feel like he might be the Applejack of the main cast, if it's going to be constant main character releases like g4 again. I hope we get a good brushable release at some point. At least I can say that I love Zipp's design. I can't wait to have a brushable of her!

I've been a fan since g3. I collect all generations, though when it comes to g4 I stick to the first couple years. I had a couple of collections in the past that were unfortunately lost. One full of g3's and the second of g4's. In that one I actually had the super hard to get school set from the early 2010's. That's not relevant but sometimes I just...think about it. Anyways, I've lurked on here for a while but I figured with G5 just around the corner it would be a good time to join! Glad to be here!
