Sunburned g3s?
« on: February 27, 2020, 10:49:33 AM »
Hey guys! Hope everyone is well. Does anyone have pics of sunburned g3s? I have one with a very odd yellowed mark (she's white) and want to know if its a sunburn or something else! (will post pics at a later date)

I’ve not seen any sunburnt g3s before, I believe most of them (thankfully) just fade. I have a bow tie with no pink left on her symbols, eyes or hoof heart and she’s only slightly more yellow than my others, if at all!

Can her head turn? For some reason the later white g3s all seem to be prone to random yellow patches and I’m wondering if this is what your pony may have? I’ll put a picture of my Fun Fairy below, it’s around her neck, a huge yellowed patch. She’s mint and unplayed with but still has the yellowing! My strawberry surprise also has it, although it’s all over her body!

If your pony is a later one 2006 or after, has the mark somewhere around her neck (it could be aged glue), and doesn’t otherwise look faded then I’d say it’s a weird ageing/batch problem!

Here’s fun fairy, both of mine have the same problem in the same place

Any toy that's white plastic can yellow. It doesn't matter if its 20 years old or 2 weeks old. Probably had a lotta adventures with a plucky little girl.

Fun Fairy! Love her! That's common for her from what I've heard!

The pony with the weird mark is Finger Paints if that helps!

Our G3 Bowtie has the same yellow Mark's around the neck from the above picture.  Hair, symbols and eyes are all unfaded so I also assume it is a glue discoloration.  If your yellow blotches are also just around the neck it may be the same thing.  I did hear that some white G3s can sunburn though, that's why Idid not attempt to sunfade the marker off of Daffidazey.

Have you guys tried Hydrogen Peroxide on the whitening?
I feel like it has to do with seperate batches.
