Is it bad that I'm worried that once they get up to Year 5 that they will just roll back around to Year 1 since it will be the 40th anniversary of those ponies?

I don't think its an unreasonable assumption to make. Hasbro has done that twice already.

It would be the 40th anniversary of MLP as a whole, I don't think they would rerelease the Collector ponies.  They could use "40th anniversary of MLP" for any pony.  :)

What are my odds of finding unscented Rainbows in the U.S., at this point? I’d like to hold out hope, buuut...

I ordered the 5 pack of rainbows on a really good Amazon sale and the listing said they were scented.  Box arrived, opened it up, and none are scented.  Apparently Basic Fun ran out of the scented ones on their Amazon and just didn't change the listing description.  Kinda relieved because discoloration, but kinda sad because I wanted to smell them...

I still haven't bought any and have no interest until they start releasing the gimmick and baby ponies. I was looking forward to upgrading my heartthrob then I saw how drastically different in colour the repro is -_-

Birthday Pony would be a good choice for the 40th. (Do you call her that over there?)

I also wonder whether wider events in China and production may impact this release of BF ponies. We may find them delayed while they're dealing with the much bigger and more important problem of getting everyone fit and well again.

Did Snuzzle originally have fading pink?
AFAIK My Confetti’s streak is still pretty pink.

Not the original one, but the retro Snuzzle and CC have very fadingpinkish shade mane and tail. So does Bow Tie but I haven't had her very long - I had Snuzzle a lot longer (I don't have CC) so that's why I mentioned her.

I don't think the streaks in the 2nd set rainbows are fading pink, I think it's a different shade.

Looks like Posey and Lickety will have this colour as well.

I recently made a start on increasing my Butterscotch collection, & got 25th (falls over so I call her Topplescotch) an Italian (the pale-haired one I call Buttercream) & this 35th one. Her hair is a bright golden yellow rather than the golden brown of the original so I call her Goldenscotch.
My Mascots (so far): Twisty Tail, G2 Trixiebelle, Starcatcher, Twilight Sparkle. All variants & pictures of these are appreciated. Piccies courtesy of Griffin, Blumiere, Littlebabyribbon, & Starscout
