Her bio is interesting , so she was a student of Celestia  ... hmmm this means that she must have failed and then Celestia looked for another pony that is Twilight 

Not really... it just means that studenthood doesn't last forever, which is perfectly reasonable; would you really want to be still counted as a student by the time you're 90 and in a retirement home or whatever?

Well the thing is that we don't know what being a student of Celestia really means, as for now in the show the only ones named is Twilight and Starswirl the bearded, and Celestia mentioned that Starswirl failed his trial by not making friends.

At this point of the series it does appears that only a few powerfull chosen get to be Celestia student (even the 5 of the main 6 aren't) and even fewer of them ones approve the test, and if they do they get a noble title it appears. 

Hence that's why I was wondering if Sunset Shimmer failed. 

Oh, it's a perfectly valid possibility; I only took issue with your saying that she must have failed, which is different from wondering. Personally she doesn't come across as at all villainous to me, so I prefer to think she graduated or whatever the equivalent would be.

I don't recall any reference to Star Swirl being Celestia's student. It's again possible, but it's just as possible that Clover the Clever or Thornhoof were her students; we just don't know. (And presumably only Rarity of the mane six would even potentially qualify, since the other four aren't unicorns, and I can't see Rarity wanting to be Celestia's student, soooo.)

...anyway, she's really pretty and I want her a lot. <3

Those eyes are indicating that she's from the Crystal Empire. Didn't the ponies there have eyes like that (meaning specially the eye lashes)?

I just looked her up on ebay and the ones coming out of china appear to have red hair. I bought one so we'll see when she shows up but hopefully its not just bad photo editing!  I really like her either way:)

It has been "semi unofficially" confirmed this PONY won't be on the show.
When the Toy Fair was on licensees "supposedly" confirmed they were perplexed why Hasbro had decided to release this pony in particular. Maybe the surprise was because she is an EG character?

Although I cant be the only one who thinks she looks a little like Toralei!

I saw a few on ebay yesterday and some seemed more red than others. I am also wondering if it's just the quality of the picture or not. Let us know when you get yours, but fingers crossed she is, indeed red!
