Any moms of premies here?

Today is a special day for my family! It's my son's 3rd birthday! He was a premie born at 28 weeks weighing 3 lbs 9 oz. He stayed in the NICU for 2 months which was tough. He came home on an apnea monitor which was tough too. We are very blessed though because he was healthy and growing. Today he turned 3 and I'm just feeling thankful and wondering if there's any other premie moms here? I'd love to hear your story!

I'm not the mom of a preemie, but I was one! I was born 2 months and a week early back in '81, had surgery at 2 days old. Pretty crazy.

So awesome to hear your son just turned 3, I assume he's doing well. That is just wonderful.

I'm not a preemie mom, but a preemie. I was ~4 lbs when I was born. I'm glad your son is doing well, and happy birthday to him.

No kiddo here, but I'm yet another one born nearly 2 months early and under 4lbs... Almost the size of my Mom's hand...

Happy birthday to him!  My friend's daughter was very early (born at 28 weeks) and recently celebrated her 7th birthday, happy and healthy.

Not a father of one. But my mother (who passed away last year) was mom to me.
I was born three months early, weighed 1 pound,1 ounce in 1976. Spent the first four months in the NICU unit of the local Children's Hospital.

Not a momma myself, but a nursing student going into Labor and Delivery. SO glad to hear your son has done well!! It's amazing what fighters we have these days  Congrats!

Hey there my wee girl was born at 25 weeks and weighed 1lb 6 oz (635 grams), we had a week shy of six months in the NICU in Chch, Nz, came home on an NGT and the ubiquitous apnoea monitor. At three weeks she had her PDA ligated and I was able to hold her the day before she was four weeks old . She is now 18 months and very funny, very quick, and absolutely delightful!

No, but I just found out today that one of my good friends had her baby early yesterday at 29 weeks. 

But so glad to hear all these wonderful stories!

Close enough... mine was full term but only 4 pounds...  about 2 weeks in NICU.  She's the sturdiest little thing I know!
