I bought this off taobao and finally got it. Delivery services were shut down for awhile. I am amazed they had it in a big enough size (US 2X is like a 7X here). Think Transfor-whatever is the name of the company that jacked the image from Hasbro.? visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I am leaving China in September and going to stay in Tokyo again for about 2 months. Last time I rented a room in Kunitachi - a western suburb of Tokyo (1 stop east of Tachikawa). It was nice and peaceful there BUT it took almost an hour to get to Shinjuku and then even longer if I was going to Asakusa, Ikebukuro or Akihabara. Shinjuku station is my worst nightmare. There is an apartment avalible in Kunitachi, the next building over from where I was before but I think I want a more central location..maybe. Kunitachi is cheaper but with transportation costs, I think it would work out to about the same as staying in a more central location. But my question is...where? suggestions? Is there any other place that rents to foreigners short term other than Sakura House? LAst time I choose a share house because it was much cheaper but this time I want my own apartment. I am over sharing bathrooms with people.

I currently work in China at a English conversational school and my contract ends in August.
I was recently hired by Heart English to be an ALT in the Kanto region (Tokyo Area) starting in September. My contract with Aston is quite nice as its 4 days a week, free housing and no more than 20 hrs a week - mostly on the weekends. However the contracts for Japan seem to be not as..cushy..as the ones in China. I have to pay for and find my own housing in the Tokyo area, pay for transportation and work more hours. Obviously the pay for Japan is higher than china (my salary is about 1200 USD a month) but the cost of living is so low and its easy to save money.
I'm curious what people who have been ALT's thought about it.

I know a bunch of you have visited or lived there. Hopefully, I will be leaving China on 9/5 (IF my replacement can get his visa for China by Thrusday as he is leaving for Cambodia on Thrusday to get his TEFL certificate). I have a limited budget and about 1/2 is going to housing and airfare...mostly airfare back to NY.  I dont plan on going to far from Tokyo simply cause I dont think its in the budget (unless I can find some students who are willing to pay cash up front for an English lesson or two  ) Any advice? I'll be there at least 30 days
