so I just won an auction on ebay for a couple baby ponies... didn't notice the shipping, but it's like $10 for shipping  ... I know it only costs about $3.00 to send 2 baby ponies with tracking within the US, this seller is listed as being in the US and I'm In the US.... so why the high shipping charge?

I emailed the seller to find out why... am I right to ask for a lower shipping charge since that is clearly outrageous?

Edit: wow totally just realized after the seller responded to me that she's in the Netherlands, not USA like I thought, explains the high shipping

Please let us know what your seller's reply is???  Because I am sure the answer will be that it was stated in the listing before you bid. 

I think seller's try to compensate what their loses maybe if the item does not go high with outrageous shipping charges.  Which is a big no-no!  If you expect a set price then the item should be listed at that and not try to make it up with extreme shipping costs.

I do hope this is not the case and that she will adjust your invoice to a more accurate shipping charge.

I'm guessing if she won't my only options are to either pay the insanely high cost or try to cancel the purchase... I want the item, but I don't want her to get away with the high shipping.... I can guarantee that it will get a 1 star in shipping cost from me

omg, my bad on there, I swear it said she was from the US, but she responded and she's from the netherlands XDD that totally explains the high shipping cost, and it's honestly still a good deal for the ponies I"m getting for it, so yeah all taken care of :3

Probably nothing to worry, sending non-tracing is normal for us in the Netherlands
If we charge you traced shipping, it's insanely high, that's why (in my experience) everyone wants non-tracing

I don't buy from international sellers very often because the shipping is so high, but this one was a great deal

I bought 5 Argie ponies from sellers in Argentina in June, and although the shipping was pricy, they are sooooo worth it:).  So tell us, who did you get???  Baby ponies are so cute!!
