Yeah, that's the deal with teefury.  One shirt design a day, available for that day only.

I don't mind this set.  I'm not going to be buying them, but honestly, with the new collector set and the set with Minty, plus blind bags, plus plushies, plus trading cards...I already want more than I can afford.

Frankly, it's fine with me if Hasbro keeps reissuing the mane six - they clearly sell to the little ones - and releases the occasional new character or collector set for those of us who don't want doubles of the main six.

I would like to see, at some point, brushables of characters like BonBon/Sweetie Drops, Spitfire, Soarin', Bic MacIntosh and Octavia, and I would rather see those than these, but my wallet tells me to give it time :)

Pony Corral / Re: Have you ever felt like you wanted a real pony?
« on: August 25, 2013, 01:29:54 PM »
I did as a child.  We had a farm, with lots of land to ride on, so it would have been a good environment for a horse.

I don't now, for multiple reasons.  I live in the city, and I know I wouldn't have enough time to go out and ride and care for a horse each day.  I also don't want to spend such a large portion of my income on one.  I go trail riding from time to time, but right now my lifestyle isn't condusive to having my own horse.

Hi Ashlite!  My friend's roommate drove us, so I'm not sure where she parked. :/

Wow, my brag got pinned  ! :)

SeashellnBubbles:  I am from Canada and I went to the MLP Fair in Indiana.  Some of my friends drove down and invited me to come with them.  :)  It was my first trip to the Fair and a lot of fun.  As you can see I went a little wild with the pony buying.

Herbal tea.  Caffeine free, sugar free, like water but tastier.

That is radical!

I am so glad to hear about all these ponies getting brought into the collector community where they will find good homes.

Pony Corral / Re: The strangest place you've found a pony?
« on: August 16, 2013, 05:25:43 AM »
I am so happy to hear about all of these rescued ponies!

I have never found a pony anywhere so strange.  I do remember though years before FiM I was at TFCon and found a Baby Drummer in a "junk bin" under some guy's table.  He seemed surprised anyone wanted it and asked me if I thought $2 was reasonable.

I THOUGHT $2 WAS TOTES REASONABLE.

Since FiM ponies appear much more openly at TFCon and with pricing more in line with what I'd see here.  However I have still managed some good deals; like this year, Baby Lucky Leaf for $12.

Pony Corral / Re: Are you an active or retired collector?
« on: August 14, 2013, 04:57:43 PM »
I am an active but slow collector, meaning that I mostly get new ponies only a few times a year - pony meets, the Fair, conventions, a handful of new items that come out that I deeply love.  I also collect Transformers and am working part time now, so I have to budget carefully for toys, and not spend beyond my allowed amounts.  Since I have limited money, I buy only the things I truly love, not just anything because it is pony.

The weirdest thing I ever did with ponies was the "pony balancing gardens".  This started when I tried to do a cheerleader style pyramid with ponies.  I ended up taking over our upstairs hall creating "sculptures" of ponies.  Here are some I remember:

Powder and Skyflier, facing each other.  Baby Firefly standing on their noses.

Baby Tiddley Winks across Quarterback's back

The aforementioned pyramid of collector pose all done with Birthflower Ponies

It took me literally days.  Because I had to use all my ponies.  I had over a hundred.

Mom let me keep it up for a week so I could take my family members on "tours" of the "Gardens."  I know my parents would wake up when one of the displays fell over in the night and i would always have to fix any fallen sculptures before each tour.

Pony Corral / Re: Talking Nightmare Moon worth getting?
« on: August 09, 2013, 11:59:17 AM »
I really love Nightmare Moon, so I know I want to get her, but I have a lot of obligations coming up in the next few months (home insurance, car maintenance, passport renewal) and I bought a lot of ponies at the MLP Fair, so I'm going to wait until November to get her.

I would say give it a few weeks and at the end of that ask yourself if you still really want her; if you do, save up for her, if you have mostly forgotten about her, then you didn't really want her that badly.

Pony Corral / Re: So how come Hasbro hates green?
« on: August 07, 2013, 11:06:50 AM »
There has got to be a financial reason.  I don't know if it's that green dye is more expensive, if green doesn't sell as well to the target market, or if it's a concern about ponies changing shades in different media, but there's either a reason, or an old reason that nobody's rethought.

Minty G1 is my favourite pony and Fizzy close behind; and Minty G3 got a lot of exposure, but overall, I think pink/purple followed up by white/blue are easier sells.  There aren't a super ton of orange ponies, either.
