Adding my voice of support!! Cloth pads are so great. Due to birth control I don't bleed enough to need them anymore, but I used to make and wear them. They are soooo much more comfortable on the skin than plasticy-paper stuff! Also, when I made mine, I made the "upside" out of dark red flannel and then I didn't have to think about stains at all! (Not that the stains bother me, since I'm the only one seeing them!)

It's fine to say, it's my pony, and it's my choice - that's absolutely true. But when you join a site like the Arena, you choose to become part of a community. And when you do that, then, simply, the community is also an important consideration. I don't think that, if you are willing to post here and share your pony info, your life and your interests with people here, then it's right to consider the overall community impact of how you choose to treat that collectible, since it does affect everyone in the long term.
This is really well-put, Taffeta. Being part of a community means you get to enjoy the warm fuzzies and fun but it also means there are some responsibilities. I'm glad banditpony shared the story of deboxing that special pony -- I think it's important for MIB/MOC collectors to see that not all deboxing is equal and it's not always done for the quick "high." I am not a MIB/MOC collector for anything I collect, because for me the joy is in handling and manipulating the toys I collect. What I really take away from threads like this is how special the MLP community is for the passion and thought that folks put into their collections and yes, the actual community that exists. Honestly, I'm so glad I dipped my toes into pony collecting because it exposed me to all of you!

Here are the post-cleanup pics if anyone's interested! Everyone cleaned up really nicely, except I did discover that G2 Petal Blossom is missing one of her eye gems -- not too worried, since it's just a plain rhinestone and I should be able to replace it. Her symbol is nicer on the missing-gem side. G3 Fluttershy's mane is soooo gorgeous, I wasn't able to properly capture it!

A couple loose have sold for around $34, and MIB for $60 (which is still really high imo) but I don't think any have actually sold for that price. Maybe the sellers are dreaming?
Basically -- wishful-thinking pricing on the part of the seller.

Yes! Star Dreams is great, though I confess that ponies without symbols feel VERY wrong. (It makes sense for a story to have ponies not have them when they're little, yada yada BUT STILL!) Lucky! The only G2 I've ever seen in the wild was a McDonald's pony that was priced at $5 
High-priced McD's ponies are SOOOOO annoying!! Come on, dealers, know your stuff!!! UPDATE: looked up the G2 on Strawberry Reef and she is Petal Blossom from 1997!

Normally I wait until after I've cleaned them up to post about them, but how about I show the rough pic and then post later when they've dried from their bath? Anyway, the only one of these that's a double for me is Applejack. I am so excited to find Lyra!!! And I now own my VERY FIRST G2!!! Haven't looked her up yet, but she's very cool. Purple is my fave colour and I love a gem eye  visitors can't see pics , please register or login
