Off Topic / Re: Any must-see things in Winnipeg?

Hey silverdragon54! I think Winnipeg is really nice in September, so you should enjoy your visit!

You'll definitely want to check out The Forks  for general recreation, shopping and food. It's an historic site, and also the Human Rights Museum is there.

In terms of Métis history, you can visit Riel House historic site to learn more about Louis Riel and the Red River Settlement. You should also for sure visit the St. Boniface Cathedral, and the cemetary there where Louis Riel's grave is.

Another important site for Métis history is the St. Norbert park.

It sounds like you're staying in the south end of the city, so you're close to the new Thermea spa. Oh and if you're in the south end for sure go to the Bridge Drive In for ice cream!

I also recommend the Exchange District for shopping, food and historic buildings! Be sure to visit Tara Davis Studio Boutique and Parlour Coffee.

Our art gallery is very cool.

It sounds like you have a list of restaurants already but my top ones would be:

Kawaii Crepe
The Tallest Poppy
Stella's (many locations)
The Grove

For fancier dinners:
Prairie Ink (located in McNally Robinson Booksellers, a must-visit if you like bookstores!)
Deer + Almond
Smith

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions!

The very end of her tail is a bit dry.

Thank you Pony MDs! I knew you would be able to help :D

OK, so these spots are basically vinyl deterioration? And not some kind of mold I shouldn't expose other ponies to?

If not then I will keep her. I've never had (or seen in person) a FF pony before, so it was very cool to see something so "antique" :)

Pony Corral / Pony Doctors, please help diagnose my FF Butterscotch!
« on: July 05, 2015, 12:00:06 AM »
So, my mom picked up this FF Butterscotch for me at a yard sale (she knows little about ponies). Only $0.50, so it's no tragedy if she can't be saved, but based on the photos below -- is there anything that can be done/should be done with this pony? Her mane and tail show their age but are uncut. I'm not super well versed in the vagaries of pony cancer versus mold etc.

Anyway, please let me know your thoughts! Can she be saved?

Customs / Re: Removing hair from G3.5 - newb question
« on: June 10, 2015, 07:11:40 PM »
Not sure really, I've always just reused pony tails if anything. Hopefully someone else knows more.

I do realize I'm being kind of weird about this :D For some reason I love the texture and colours of this mane, I don't know why I'm so fixated on saving it! I'm also so curious if it *can* be done. I might experiment with dissolving the glue with acetone.

Customs / Removing hair from G3.5 - newb question
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:27:52 AM »
Hi all, I hope it's OK to ask this kind of question here.

So I have a G3.5 Rainbow Dash with really gorgeous hair (still had the plastic protector on when I thrifted her). Is it possible to remove the hair from the pony intact without cutting it off with an xacto knife? Like, can I dissolve the glue from inside the head and pull the hair out?

I've looked inside the head and I see messy loops that are sticking up and covered with glue.

Wow, you make the ponies yourself? That is awesome sauce. I was going to ask you where you found the sparkly ones until I read you made them from a mold.

I was wondering too! Truly marvelous!!!

I love them all, but a particular shoutout to a sparkle Concerned Pony \o/

Ha, I'm glad your response to this was actual mirth and laughter and not sadness :)

My grandfather died of Parkinson's 10 years ago (about 15 years after diagnosis as well). Condolences on your loss.

He was my mom's dad and now both my mom's parents are gone. My oma died in 2013 and it took at least a year before my mom was done with all the various paperworks and taxes and pensions etc. etc. And she did get mail addressed to my oma! But nothing as strange as jury duty.

I love her!!! Beautiful work. The name, combined with the freckles, make her have a very Strawberry Shortcake vibe, which I love!

I love these -- space is a big interest of mine, so I love all ponies/toys with a planet/star/space theme and of course customs like these take it to the next level!!! The painting is wonderful and the hair you chose really brings the whole look together.
