It's been a while since I've been here whoops! But I've been busy. I've been working on making g1 mark embroidery files for my new machine. And tested them out on some little pony puffs!

The base pattern and face embroidery is by https://www.etsy.com/shop/TeacupLion

Ears, mane/tail, horn and marking embroidery is by me!

Pony Corral / Re: Advice on restoring Gingerbread?
« on: November 18, 2017, 02:32:14 AM »
It's just really hard to find a nice Gingerbread.  :/

I wouldn't say she's "bait" because that's kind of like saying a flutter ponies with her wings missing is bait;   it's something that is going to happen to most flutter ponies and most Gingerbreads.  Your Gingerbread doesn't have a bunch of age spots ('pony cancer'), which means she is still doing pretty well for who she is.

Edit:  Also, yes, some of the ponies in this pose are hard as ROCKS.  I assume it's because of the plasticizer leeching out over time or something.  It's just weird, it's so often ponies in this pose.

Yeah I've noticed twinkle eyes in particular suffer a lot from this!

Its hard to tell because of the camera but in the before she was a very grey green and that was taken after rubbing her down a bit with a magic eraser.
I took her apart, popped out the tail and had her soaking in oxyclean over night. Oxyclean can make the hair feel weird and I've had it take out shine in a couple ponies. But a long leave in conditioner treatment usually fixes this. The black mark under her cutie mark I took off with nail polish remover.
It took a while between soaking, drying her out and then doing the hair, but soooooo worth it!

LOVE THEM SWEETBERRIES

Boysenberry Pie and Blueberry Baskets were the first two I got out of that set. They're my favorites (and also they are girlfriends in my herd)!!
I keep thinking, hey, maybe I should do an army of sweetberry ponies. but that might get out of hand pretty quick!!

My mother has been really supportive of it, and picks up every pony she sees for me, regardless of generation, she even knows which one I had in my childhood herd. I actually think she's really happy that I'm back into it. I was absolutely pony obsessed as a child, tons of toys and I guess I watched the movie so much my mother had it memorized. But I only know this because my mother told me. I personally don't remember much at all. I remember asking to have parasol in the bath one time, but everything else is/was gone from my mind. Which is the ptsd (my father is a truly evil person I'll leave it at that) at work there, years of therapy haven't really helped much. But, collecting old toys again, mostly ponies, brings back pieces here and there. In a weird sort of way, collecting ponies has give me and my mother a bit of closure. Which is probably why my mom is so supportive, because they were a very postive thing from that time period and now are a big part of my healing.

My stepfather didn't believe it was a thing and was just blown away for a while, hahah. He supports it too, which is nice.

As for my friends, the close ones at least, they're pretty great about it! Some of our gaming night friends give my bff a lot of crap for collecting because he's a guy, but don't say anything to me, which bothers me a lot, gender shouldn't matter!!

Sorry for getting so serious and depressing there!! Things are much better now!!

Pony Corral / Re: Neck Seal: To Open, or Not to Open?
« on: January 21, 2017, 11:53:35 AM »
Hmm, trying to destink but not popping her open is going to be tricky, since water just might make it worst. I personally always pop them open if I can because I can't run the risk of mold (allergic and asthmatic),especially if she smells musty there might be mold at least in my experience. But I know a lot of collectors don't like loose pony heads! I would try putting her in a heavier destinker like Odoban, or similiar brand. Dryer sheets work too. I've used both to remove cat pee smell and heavy pet odor from furniture, toys and papers. It took months, in the cases I dealt with (it was pretty gross but things worth saving, I'll spare everyone the details.) But it the must is light, maybe a week or two?

I got mine NM for about 50, but I've seen her hang around 70 depending on condition. Great find! She's one of my favorites!!!

Wasn't there a Sundance on eBay listed at like 7k? I remember dying over a reallllllllllly expensive Sundance and people were messaging the seller and the seller was like "it's worth it! It's vintage!"

I see a lot of common Applejacks listed in the hundreds too. and its like
c'mon at least do a little research lol

Pony Corral / Re: Was G1 Applejack clumsy?
« on: December 03, 2016, 03:18:15 AM »
There's also this! Applejack's clumsyness is basically a plot point in this one haha. Its also the origin story of the twinkle eyes! http://heckyeahponyscans.tumblr.com/post/27216636085
