The top one appears to have darker hair than the others but that's it.

They'd have to all be photographed in bright lighting without flash to try verifying. I didn't realize they were that similar from auction photos.

Would it be fair to say 1 with dark red hair and 4 with red hair?

Also Chi, if you notice the Oct pony picture from ebay has been faded to disguise the marks on the face.  Some of the pictures have been enhanced, notice the hair distortion.
Now I see it. Yikes..
Embers photo looks different from the listing photo, for sure. Usually the auction photos are taken with flash but that one was intentionally taken in poor lighting without flash..

That pony is pretty light from embers photos, but the face area looks a bit blurred from how it actually looks.
The marks aren't bad at all, I don't think she will have any issues removing them. :)

Maybe we shouldn't try to go in and decipher shades of red.
Otherwise we will end up with a questionable book.

That's what I decided to do with my List

I just want to pop in and remind everyone that someone at the MLPFair (I forget who) was selling some beautiful rehaired squeakybutts - we need to remember not to lump those in with the regular Vennies!

Absolutely! I haven't seen any of them myself, though. I imagine they look amazing.
Some of those squeaky butts have had really nice colour schemes and they have the potential to look great. :D

Gah! My Biggest Gripe are un marked Customs .  I sure hope who ever made them marked them.  I don't put any Veny that is not coming direct form
Venezuela on my list, unless I have inside info.  It's too easy to start duplicating ones that are being resold on the Secondary  market

Ahh, this is an amazing thread! So glad I found it.

There are so many pretty Venezuelans, I also remember reading about them starting to pop up when they did (2012?) and just being overly excited about !new ponies being found! How amazing is that!

Also, great job on your detective work guys, and keeping list of what has been seen around, that is truly great!

I don't own any Venezuelan ones, but there seem to be so many great and different versions out there. I'm totally in love with the 'plum' Posey, just can't get over her unique colour. Ahhhhh. Keep up the detective work guys!

They're amazing, aren't they? It's awesome to have new "old" toys in 2014. Like discovering a hidden cavern filled with treasures, we have no idea what's around the next corner.
The Venezuelan sellers seem to discover them just as we do. I assume some are from consignment stores and flea markets..
Who knows what undiscovered colours are going to pop up next. It's exciting!!

I'm right with you! I've always been such a dork for pony mysteries lol. It's always super exciting to hear about some new ponies/variations pop up that we hadn't known to ever exists! I hope we will keep finding them, and I'm sure we will. There's always some dark secret corners in the world no one thought of looking, I'm sure  ^.^ Hooray for all the pony mysteries in the world.

This whole thread was a fantastic read. I know so little about ponies from other countries... (let alone my own XD) A while back I became obsessed with the blue Venezuelan Cotton Candy with the pink hair (followed by the Venezuelan Blossom with the identical color scheme) after looking them up on mylittlewiki... definitely dream ponies.

That Posey is GORGEOUS! Congratulations!

Thank you! I absolutely adore her.
M...maybe I'll make a brag thread when all my new ladies are cleaned and dried. :devious:
I don't like making those threads...but.. this sassy lady might be offended to not get some spotlight. >u>

@Hannah: Blossom and Cotton Candy pop up a lot! Maybe you can save your money and buy yourself one for Christmas!

Edit: For historical purposes, SFlame did her get directly from Venezuela. :)

She definitely deserves a brag thread, I would love to see more photos!

Ooh, how often is a lot? I don't know if I can save for one for a few months at least. XD Is there an average price range? To give me an idea of what I'd be saving. ^_^

The price ranges are all over the place...
But those two are a bit less pricy. Maybe someone here will have one for sale. :)

Thank you! I've saved a few ebay searches to look into later. :D Glad to know they aren't one of the OOAK ponies.
