Hmm, I think the only issue with changing out wigs is that it'd could be drastically different and partly because the wigs tend to make the character for some of these CAMs. Now if we were to do a 'makeover' like Tyra always does, there's always that. :D

Good point, aellos. I like the idea if that. I would say that your ghoul must wear the same wig until we do some sort of 'makeover' challenge.

Wait, so how would all the other girls manage to change their hair as much as a CAM if they can't have their hair colour/style changed as easily? Would you photoshop their hair? Or..

Icicle: LOVE pic two! HOTNESS!!!!

Wait, so how would all the other girls manage to change their hair as much as a CAM if they can't have their hair colour/style changed as easily? Would you photoshop their hair? Or..

Well, sometimes Tyra leaves a girl as is when it comes time for makeovers because they're so darn beautiful already! So regular dolls will fully rooted hair will not be getting makeovers. However, participants using CAMs must realize that once makeovers occur, they will not be able to change wigs again.

Overall, using a regular doll instead of a CAM will not hurt anyone's chances in the competition. Following the challenge correctly and photography skills is what really counts. Fabulous hair is always good, too, but with a little care and styling, regular dolls can rock every sort of hairdo under the sun. Examples:

Really, the possibilities are endless! So what I'm saying is don't let the fact that your doll may not get a makeover hinder the possibilities of what you can do with hair! There is soo much that can be done to outshine even the best wig! It all comes down to show the hair is styled and presented!

@Tuney: Droooooling looking at those hairstyles. You're so right. All you need is patience, maybe some hair styling tools and tiny elastics/clips!

Yeah, it does take some patience, and tools are KEY! And a good comb! And sometimes shampoo! A nice hair washing and blow dry create a striking look as well. If I owned a hairdryer, I would take some pics like that myself! Also, for certain challenges a semi-wet look might look good too, or hair slicked back.

The main problem I'd have with this competition is lack of clothing XD

NoDivision, you shouldn't worry about such things, Tuney has proven that sometimes you don't need clothing on your models just some imagination. :) Look around your house or in your toy box, maybe there are things you could use to make outfits. Mix n match what you have or borrow from another doll.

I was thinking for the first photoshoot, Tuney could do something nature related. That way, those ghouls that don't have many outfits could use...well, nature as their clothing. Leaves, twigs, grass, etc.. XD
You could always try to look for old barbie  or other doll clothes. Even if they don't fit MH too well, you could pin it in the back and no one would know!

I'm doing that...going to go raid my old Barbie clothes tomorrow and see what I can use.  I think I might even have some small enough to fit the girls (old skipper clothes and whatnot).

Is homemade stuff like jewelry allowed?

Yes, any sort of homemade jewelry, props, and clothing is allowed! You can do soooo much with stuff that isn't Monster High clothing. You can use clothing from other dolls, or 'makeshift' clothes, as I like to call them.

Some examples:

This toga was created using a t-shirt I cut up.

Aside from the Bratz jacket, all I did was mismatch MH clothes to get this unique look.

More mixmatching

This hat and scarf was made for a pony, but it worked for Cleo! So using pony clothes, handmade or original Hasbro, could work.

Sailor Moon meets Ancient Egyptian by tuneful87, on Flickr
This look was simply created by turned Lala's shawl in the opposite direction.

Where Art Thou Clothes X2 by tuneful87, on Flickr
A little hat combined with what I think were Clawdeen's original leggings.

A shot that requires no clothes at all, but you'd never know she's nekkid!

Cleo by tuneful87, on Flickr
Here I turned Clawdeen's blanket into a shawl.

Lagoona as Greed by tuneful87, on Flickr
This Barbie dress was way too big, but tying it around the middle with a ribbon did wonders.

So to those twelve who eventually make the final cut, you'll want to search your houses, closets, and storage bins. You'll be surprised by the amount of great stuff you have to use!

I mix match my girls clothes all the time. :D So I'd do that.
Hrrrm...and I will definately opt out of any makeovers if I were to get in. I don't have any extra wigs. P:
