Title: PC Please: Japan Exclusive (?) Sega G3 or G3.5 Plushies (cute!!)
Post by: Gaspode on September 08, 2012, 01:49:11 PM
Hiya

My brother and his wife recently had their belated honeymoon in Japan and found these little guys! They wondered if anyone was interested in them :)

So I think they might be Japan exclusive. They say Sega as well as MLP so I wondered if they were for crane grab machines originally?

anyone know anything about them or have an idea of price?

they could be ufo catcher plush but the sega thing confuses me as far as I know the company is not associated with them.  Unless this is a different sega company I am thinking of.

So cute. No idea on price but the ufo toys don't come up for sale often from what I see. Congrats on them :-)

These are made for Sega Arcade [in the US] and Sega Amusements [in Europe]. They are a licensed by Hasbro product hence why they do look like fakies! Sega Amusements sell both "prize" machines [which can be claw machines or more complex games] through distributors and they also then sell the "prizes" for going inside the machines. The prizes are toys like these - they tend to buy up licenses for whatever is popular at the time - at the moment its Bad Bear and So Kawaii toys.

They are not exclusive to Japan they were offered through Sega Amusements in both the US and Europe 2 or 3 years ago. However, machine owners and distributors need to buy the product in order for them to get into machines in order for them to be won. I dont think these were all that popular a couple of years ago as ponies were largely in nowhere land between gens. Perhaps their current popularity will bring them back and we ll see them again.

They were selling on ebay a year or two ago, and I remember that they were affordable... somewhere between $5-10??? (I had always wanted one!) haha. But other than that, I'm not too sure. It depends on how many people are interested I guess.

Aww, cute! I have some very similar ones that my boyfriend got for me while he was in Japan, but they're not quite the same. (Mine are sitting rather than laying down.) I have no idea what the value is on the ones I have either, sorry! Yours are adorable though, I love those bushy little tails XD

Lol as much as I would like it to mean its for "fun" it actually refers to the fact they are a grabber toy - "For Amusement" as in for "amusement arcade machine" :P

I have the standing version of these. They are totally cute even if you don't love the 3.5s.
