(G1) Is there another way of opening a Secret Surprise pony?

I'm well aware that the "Secret Surprise" pony comes with a key, but can't you just pop off the lid with your hand? After looking at pictures, I'm pretty sure you could just press down on the lock and it'll open; is this possible?

Well, you don't just press down, but yes, you can open the saddle without the key.  You can wiggle the saddle to one side enough to slip it off the lock.

!! Be careful wiggling the saddle! The plastic on the hinge is fragile and I may have just snapped mine trying to do just this  . I even have a key, but the locky mechanism isn't working correctly...

I was wondering because I was considering buying a Secret Surprise online, but I noticed NONE of them came with their keys!

Use a coin, like a nickle. It's thicker and doesn't have a sharp edge like some butter knives.

Its pretty common for a lot of ponies to be sold minus their accessories; over the years the smaller items are easier to lose and often those selling their childhood collections dont even realise some items came with MLP You ll find them if you search but the keys do come up less often than the ponies themselves.

I use a large ordinary paperclip, you get the rounded edge like a coin and leverage like the knife.  Also you can tie it around the pony's neck if needed.
