MLP Nirvana / Re: Advice on piggy hair
« on: October 26, 2023, 10:02:45 AM »
Hi! I have restored a few piggies (I'm from Spain) and as Pinkkittywinks said, it's always hard to match the hair, even using MLP hair they're differences in shades and tones. I used original my little pony pink hair to re-root the end of the mane of one Loly Pop (Snuzzle) and it was very different.

I use to leave my ponies as they are, though. I prefer to have ponies with small flaws than with completely new hair, specially when talking about nirvanas.

Thank you all, I loved the experience. The pony is already in her new owner's hands and everything went perfectly.

Thank you! I never imagined I would find a so much special pony in my life!

I found a picture of a MIB one for you on Ghost of the Doll (I knew I had seen one before)

I saw it! Yesterday the owner of the page kindly showed me this section. It's surprising how the pony is laying down in the same boxes than the carriages

[I didn't found a fakie's section, I hope it's correct if I posted it in this Nirvana forum as I found a discussion about Takara ponies below.]

Time ago I found this fakie in a street market in my city (I'm from Seville, Spain). I bought it because it was very cute and interesting, and I had only one small takara fakie but it's a baby.
I was curious about why she was standed-up and why she was bigger (I didn't know much about Takara ponies as you can see), I asked about it in a Facebook group yesterday and then...

(Italy Minty and my sunglases near for comparison)

Everyone was excited about this found. I have received some offers for her, and I'm going to sell it.
But before I wanted to clean it and make some photos, since I realized they're not images of this pony in the Takara's section of My Little Wiki ( http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Fakies#Palau_Toys ). I'll send it myself to the admins.

This is how it came out after cleaning. Her hair is amazing for a fakie, plentiful and with those original curls:

I hope you find it fascinating!

Hi! I'm an illustrator and comic artist based in Spain.
During the last months I've been dealing with some tense situations at work and in life in general, and I really needed to surround myself with pretty colourful cute things. You probably know what I mean...
Dolls and ponies have helped me a lot to feel happier. I've enjoyed drawing ponies, creating new models, and recreating the piggy ponies on paper soo much.

I'm glad to introduce you to my lovely ponitos ♥ (Under the Spoiler):

I had NC Tootsie and Sugarberry in my childhood (I still have them) but I'm Spanish so I guess it doesn't count
When I began to collect them as an adult, I think my first Nirvana was an Argentinean sparkle Fluterbye, shy pose.

I'd love to see big brother ponies, the flutters, windy and summer wings...
Probably if I think about it tomorrow I'll choose others. I can't wait to see them on stores <3

That's very interesting to know your methods. I'll take for me your trick of using little balls to shake inside de pony and remove the rust from inside her. I also see very useful the plastic zip ties to maintain the tail hairs. Thanks for sharing it :D

Are you interested in MIB ponies? I have a Molasses inside her original box, Spanish version.

I added some other Spanish ponies (first pony I posted is already sold).
Some ponies have a suggested price and others I need some opinion, thank you!

I don't mind having ponies that aren't in mint condition. I think that ponies with play wear have much more personality to them and hold a very interesting story. I always wonder who the ponies were owned by, who bought them, if they were a gift, how they were played with, etc. I have a baby ballerina Pony with a star drawn in pen where her symbol would be if she had one, and I can't bear to try to fade it away. Whatever child owned her loved her so much that she gave her a symbol and I just can't take that away from the pony.

That's a lovely story! I have two nirvana baby ponies that are in a terrible condition, but I didn't repainted any erased eye or rerooted theyr hair or tail, I just cleaned them up and brushed the damaged hair, because I see that they have a past with some child who played a lot with them. They have a story on every mark, every erased symbol and every eye lost. Some kind of cute ancient treasure.
