I've looked at the help articles on Mercari and from what I can tell, you can't just refund shipping. It says they don't do partial refunds. According to them, what I should do is cancel the sales and fully refund the buyer, then create a new 'bundle' just for said buyer and have them purchase that. Which is like, way opposite of eBay. It also seems unnecessarily complicated for both of us
What happened was someone bought two ponies separately and was charged twice for shipping. Mercari then provides the label but it's weighted for one pony each. So if I put both in the same package and print a new label myself, the buyer would need $4.30 back for the others shipping.
I could stick some cash in the package. Do you think that'd be okay?
edit: The shipping labels have the item number on them, and if I do both in one package it will show that I never shipped one. Gosh this is annoying. I think I'm just going to send two packages.

you need to ship 2 separate parcels. mercari does not combine shipping.

^ I just ship separately. Do not include money in the package.

Thanks. I will ship them separately.

Yea, I find that annoying about Mercari. I don't understand why they do that.

Mercari added a feature that combines shipping earlier this year. The buyer needs to put multiple items in their cart then select the option to bundle, and Mercari generates a multi-item sale with one shipping label. This process can only be done before the purchase is made (ie you still can't combine shipping after multiple items are purchased separately).
