Brooke is another beauty who hasn't had much camera time lately.  Mostly because I need to restring her because she is insanely floppy right now.

And the newest member of the family!  My mom and I saw a Pipos Gift Edition Dorothy while we were at DDE buying wigs for her Juri, my Juri (still waiting on a body), and my Loongsoul centaur on August 30th.  Just because we could, we asked Paula if we could play with her and she said sure. We liked that she was a YoSD, but with a mature figure.  Her joints moved so smoothly and she posed great. I thought about her all week and even my mom mentioned how much she had liked her. I had $160 in the dolly fund and was scheduled to babysit for some kids from my school the next weekend, which put me only $40 short of her $280 price tag, so we went back for her!!!

We tried on several wigs and ended up with this blonde and baby pink Leeke. I bought her undies so she wouldn't be totally starkers, but when I got home and dug through the doll clothes box, I realized that the knit dress I bought for my Pullips was still there! I sold the dolls and most of their clothes, but had kept this in the hopes that I might have someone to fit into it (Brooke has been wearing the hat). I randomly started calling her Melody in my head, so I think that will probably end up being her name.

I can't wait to get her a faceup! 

And the current doll family!  By the end of the year, I should have the body for my Juri '13, along with the PKF Juri '14 I got as my event gift when I ordered.  I also have a PKF body + head back in transit somewhere between Australia and here for that faceplate.  And I'm 2/5 through a lawaway for a Soom Keny.  Once those bits arrive, I will have TWELVE dolls by the end of the year.  Holy crap.  Now I just need faces for the 4 that are (or will be) blank.  And clothes.  Once they're all complete(ish), I will drag them all outside for an actual family photo with my camera.

Thank you guys!  It's hard to pick a favorite when they're all so different.  Rowan is my smallest, more or less.  She's a little taller than my puki, but that's only because of her gangly horse legs lol.  Her head is so small that I am having a wig custom-made for her.    And then Brooke is 60cm.  I have an otter, elves, humans, one (soon to be two) with hooves, and another with a unicorn horn.  And I have white skin, normal skin, yellowish skin, and as much tan skin as I've been able to get my hands on lol.  They're an odd bunch but I love them.  The ones with Xhanthi faceups (Brooke, Maia, and Robin) are some of my favorites to photograph because I love how she painted them.

Such a gorgeous doll family!  I agree, I don't think I could pick a favorite because they're all so different...but Rowan does make me "D'aaawwwwww" every time I look at her, lol!

Thanks, barb!  Yeah, Rowan is pretty dang cute.  She's a little awkward to pose, but her size makes up for it lol.  I can't wait to see her with hair!

I guess we did, didn't we?    I bought my first Pullip in 2010, but my first BJD came home right at the beginning of 2011.  I didn't REALLY fall down the rabbit hole until Amber arrived towards the end of 2012.  Something about her just nudged me towards the DoA marketplace (danger!) and I found Nerine, who was my grail dolly and the reason I got into dolls in the first place.  Then I bought Brooke on an impulse at a local doll meet and picked up Maia, Robin, and my Juri head during Fairyland's tan event last summer.  My mom bought me Talitha as an early birthday present (which is funny, since I'm the one who gave HER a Pong lol).  Rowan just sort of fell into my lap here, when I posted about how much I wished I'd bought a Daisy Dayes centaur.  Funnily enough, she came from the same person who bought Ali, my first Pullip, from me.  So she has one of my old dolls and I have one of hers!  I can't remember how I found Willow, but she was my first doll purchase of 2014 (she just took a long time to get here).  And Melody was an impulse buy at DDE lol.  Lynna will be coming in with the body or my Juri head sometime in the next couple of months and Kai's layaway is in progress.

With faceups, that's somewhere around $3k in 3 and a half years.  Mostly in the last two. 

I pay for them all by babysitting.  With all my early ed certifications and experience, I'm probably the world's most overqualified babysitter, lol.  But I have 3 families that contact me pretty regularly and pay well.  As long as I babysit a couple times a month, it covers all my doll costs.  That way, the doll money never cuts into my actual budget.  Otherwise, there's no way I'd be able to afford my resin family.

Thank you! I love them all. I've been known to talk to them when I'm at the computer and the house is too quiet...

I'm not a fan of having a floating head lol. She's been here almost a year and I only ordered her body this summer lol. I can't wait for her to be a real doll lol. It will feel weird for her to actually be a full doll finally haha.

Thank you! Rowan is getting a mohair wig from M!ndy in a color that should match her tail blushing. We're kind of winging it because her head is so small lol. It's a shrunk-down realpuki wig basically. She's also making Talitha's wig.

Thank you! We moved into a place with an awful lawn and totally overgrown garden in April and have been working to make it beautiful all year. It's getting there.
