How can I tell if someone read my PM?

Please pardon my ignorance but how can I tell if someone has read a PM I sent them?  I hate to think the worst but I think I might be getting scammed.  It all comes down to if this person read the PM I sent them but I can't tell.  Any assistance you can give me would be great.

Go to your PMs, then to your sent box.  Check out the icons - if they're all open envelopes, they've been read.  If one is still closed, that one hasn't been read

How long ago did you send the PM?  I know that sometimes I am unable to reply to PMs right away sometimes (if I check at work on my phone I may need to wait to respond until I get home, etc.)...

I sent it last Wednesday.  My life is very busy and I also don't respond until I get home from work which is why I've given it a few days.

This could always be a possibility this time of year. 

Are you in a transaction with this person?

Yes, I commissioned them to make a custom for the G3 swap.  The pony didn't arrive in time for the swap which is a bummer but since it was coming from overseas wasn't a huge deal as I knew it could take some time and figured I would send it once it arrived.  There have been lapses in communication through this entire process but now communication has ceased entirely and still no pony.  I have had two successful transactions with this person in the past which is why I've waited so long to post.  I'll try to contact them again and wait a little longer to see if the pony shows up.  The post could just be reaaalllly slow I guess.

I really hope that this artist comes through for you, I'm sure we'd all hate to hear about another member flaking out. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya.
